My transfer chances??

Hello. I have applied for transfer admission to WUSTL. Can someone please help me with understanding my chances of getting in. I am from an Asian country but I did my first year from UK. My stats are:

1st year = 68%. The 'UK to US' grade conversion guides suggest it converts to about an overall A- or 3.64 GPA.

SAT scores= WUSTL said it won't be considering my SAT scores as I took the test after high school (in Jan 2011 actually) so SAT scores don't matter.

TOEFL= 110/120

High School: Overall A (HS does not have GPA)

EC'S: Captain of the Soccer and debate teams, member of cultural committee, took part in plays, community work- fund raiser. Work experience from two countries.

Awards: Not many(my educational system does not have many)- Regional best student

Thanks:)

I’d say you’ve got a great chance! Hope you get in!

Thank you. Can you please elaborate on why you think I have a great chance?

I was hoping I would have a couple of responses until now!

I think it’s hard to chance transfer students since it isn’t as well-publicized of a process as it is for freshman. You’re asking people who are either in high school or current Wash U students, and to my knowledge there aren’t any current transfer students at Wash U on these boards. So, I don’t think you’ll find the greatest deal of help here, unfortunately.
It’s also pretty tough to get in, according to the college board’s website:
“Transfer Students
Transfer admission stats for fall term:
Applied: 1,308
Admitted: 119
Enrolled: 58”
You would think SAT scores would be considered but if you didn’t take it than I guess it means your grades and classes will be even more important. Have good grades, don’t take easy classes, be involved, show interest and knowledge about Wash u - will give you the best chance, but still it’s going to be difficult with so many people applying. Good luck :)

Thanks for the stats flashmountain. I didn’t elaborate too much, falltransfer, because like flashmountain said, it is much more difficult to chance transfer students for WashU. I am a current transfer student, so I was basing my guess off of my own admissions experience, as well as those of my friends. You seem like a strong student who excelled in both high school and college, whose experiences correlate well with those of my fellow transfers and mine. It is a college admissions process though, so there’s always a level of apparent randomness to it. Don’t stress out and hope for the best!
