My turn to be evaluated!

Alright guys, it's my turn to be critiqued.

I'm an Iranian-American with dual citizenship from suburban Chicago.

ACT:26
SAT: 1870
GPA: 3.4

Applying to the International Relations major...

Lots of community service hours, several leadership positions, 2 varsity sports, great teacher recommendations, hopefully good essays, diversity, and rigorous high school coursework (including a French course at a local university)

I suppose that my biggest fear are the grades, although I hope my extracurriculars and service help...

also, how important are the teacher recs?

hey dude…im iranian too! applying to JHU as well…

Teacher recs are very important, but I fear your SAT and GPA just might not cut it unless you have some amazing achievements within your extracurricular activities that the admissions officers take notice of.

I don’t mean to be the bad guy, but there are people out there with better grades and extracurriculars to match, so you should do your best to really polish the other sides that you can control right now – senior grades, essays, and you really should consider retaking ACT’s or SAT’s. Also, 3 SAT II’s I believe are recommended for JHU.
