I am continually impressed with the wealth of information that I am receiving from this board!! I feel for you so much ViolinMom. There are so many things that can influence the way your child auditions on any given day. It's unfortunate that his previous record doesn't help him and shame on that professor for being so harsh. You didn't say but I really feel that the teacher from Eastman should have lobbied on behalf of your son if he really did feel that he was good enough. You did not do anything wrong and if anything we have all learned from your miserable experience. Little comfort , I know but still I appreciate it.

It is my hope that others have learned from our experience re: auditions. Unfortunately, like so many things in life, by the time you go through it and make mistakes, the damage is done! Son received his rejection letter from Eastman yesterday, which was totally expected, so no surprise. He has been accepted into three other programs, and so that is the good news. I am sure where he'll end up is where he is meant to be. Thanks everyone for your sympathy and support, and good luck to all of your music sons and daughters, too!
