My UCLA appeal. Please read~

That’s fine…our confusion comes from the fact that you already sent your appeal in and are having us review something that wasn’t sent in in the first place…it makes no sense. Care to explain?

@nick… haha, what can i say?

wow…are u guys serious.

i have no words. im sorry if it made u guys mad, but whatever. i thought i’d get it read to see if my points made sense… if its a waste of ur time, then i apologize. but whatever.

and im not embarrassed about anything jerry. i have nothing to be embarrassed about.

nick… the only reason i showed this one was because i dont have the other one. i lost it. it was on my usb drive, which got stolen with my bag this morning.

sorry for wasting ur time.

Just read your stats off another thread. OK, don’t take this the wrong way but your chances are seriously a long shot with a 3.64 and not even calc 2 done… the adcoms auto reject anyone who is missing a prereq as it is and your GPA is considerably lower than the admitted average in past years. It just wouldn’t be fair to all those 3.9s with everything done who got rejected for biz econ.

nah, man… we’re just confused.

if you had the final draft all set, and what you posted wasn’t it, then what was the reason for posting the imperfect rough copy?

Sorry about your bag being stolen. Thanks for the explanation. I’m not mad, I was genuinely curious. Though the question still remains…what’s the point of posting something that’s irrelevant? If your final draft was read and edited by 7 people including an appeals reader (is that what they call them?) I hardly think you need anyone on CC who’s procrastinating to critique the content.

This Court hereby grants you liberty and a full pardon of your heinous acts.

are u saying if a person with a 3.6 gets accepted to biz econ, and a 3.9 doesnt. then its not fair?

No, I think he is saying that if a 3.6 biz econ applicant gets rejected and appeals and THEN gets accepted, and a 3.9 doesn’t, then it’s unfair and that it’s very unlikely too.

Do I think it’s unfair for someone with a 3.6 and not even all the prereqs done to get accepted over someone with a 3.9 and everything done? Of course I do. Am I wrong here? I don’t understand your logic.

if a 3.9 gets rejected with all their prereqs done, then whose stopping them from appealing?

im not gonna lie i have a 3.6, i had a 3.4 my entire first year, but i had my reasons for that. not evreything relies on courses and gpa. dont dog on people if u dont know their situations.

and as for the theory that missing pre-req is straight rejection is completely wrong. my friend got in last year. 3.59 GPA, missing entire year of calc, btu he had a good reason for it. hes a UCLA student now. they let him take it over 2 summer sessions.

@ game… there’s more to it than stats. you can’t accurately represent a person solely by numbers. circumstance, experience and personality are certainly, and reasonably, redeeming factors when it comes to admissions decisions.

I want an appeal to the readers of this thread…

i also want the 10 minutes of my life back before I refreshed the page…

make it new and compelling information

Good luck peppamintt!

As for transfermeup, your appeal is denied. You only have a 3.97.

lol…i was jking anyway…i think you’ll get in peppa!

ps… i hate it when people say things like, “i don’t understand your logic,” especially when they’ve failed to really give something the thought necessary to arrive at such a dogmatic opinion as, for example: every 3.9 should have priority over every 3.6, without exception. <— hasty as fucck.

game theory, idk if u were rejected or accepted.

if u were rejected, then i understand why ur sayin what u are. if u were accepted, then stop being a snob. just coz u got in, doesnt mean other people cant try. im not losing hope, and theres nothing u can say that can make me change my mind for appealing, even if i am missing a prereq… or if my gpa is low. dont care.

@Pinkerfloyd: Holy crap!!! I swear you and I have the same brain today. As I was reading the “I don’t understand your logic” I was immensely annoyed. I hate that phrase. It doesn’t even make sense. It’s illogical 99% of the time!

Why are you taking offense to what I said? I wish you the best of luck with your appeal, but I only posted so that you don’t get your hopes up too much. My friend applied for the second straight year and was rejected both times with everything done, TAP certified, and a 3.8. I don’t have anything against you getting in, but sure I’d be peeved if someone with only a 3.6 and not even calc 2 done get in (again, nothing against you). And yeah, GPA isn’t everything but don’t brush it off as an insignificant part of your app that can be overlooked just because of “your situation” either.

Oh, and I just love how you’re bypassing everyone’s question on why you posted a draft for edit when you already sent your appeal in.
