^ Visited Yale today and I'm in love. I recommend you definitely visit your school before you even waste the $70 application fee. I had some doubts about Yale but after the visit I'm dead set on this school being my number one choice.

Anyone visit U Penn? I'm going to visit there next week.

Thanks- loved the report and pictures. We visited Penn with S in March and loved it. It was a cold, rainy day, but we still loved the campus. Huntsman Hall (Wharton) is an amazing building with every imaginable technological innovation. The people all over campus were friendly (surprised me- as a former Philadelphian) and helpful. The neighborhood has improved dramatically since I used to hang out around there several decades ago.

My D and I visited Penn spring break and she was very taken with the school, particularly the vibrancy of the Locust Walk scene. As momofwildchild stated, the city & the area around campus had greatly improved since I was there 20+ years ago.

AHH I LOVE YALE! Well I visited back in like seventh grade because my sister (a junior) was looking around and we went everywhere as a family. Our guide was super nice and I felt like the campus clicked. Well, in retrospect, I mean. Like, from my memories. I didn't click when I was 13 eerie look.

Since then, I've been to at least 20 other college campuses (I have two older sisters). However, the older I get, the more foggy my memory of Yale gets.

Today I visited Columbia. I was in love with it before I visited, and, honestly, the session, tour, and campus really didn't impress me at all. But when I got home I started thinking about how it felt to be walking around New York City. And the campus. And how it's in New York City. And now I fear that I'm falling in love with it all over again. But I'm also afraid I'm falling in love with the city, not the school.

Does this post even belong on this thread?

I felt the same with Harvard. I fell in love with the city, but wasn't at all impressed with anything else. :|
