I'm filling out the IGETC form and I have a question about the foreign language part.

It says: "Language other than English -- 2 yrs of the same language in high school w/grades of C or better; or college-level course(s) (check assist.org for your school); or AP language exam scores of 3, 4, or 5; or IB (higher level) language exam score of 5, 6, or 7."

Then it has 3 slots to complete. What am I supposed to do? I only took 2 years of the same language in high school. So how do I fill it out?

Just put in your two years of high school foreign language. I'm guessing that three slots might be for three quarter classes. I just put my two years of French. For school I put the name of my high school, and for term I put the school years: '99-'00 and '00-'01.

Course Title: French I
Dept Name and Course Number: FREN I
(S)emester or (Q)uarter: S
Units: 0
Grade Earned, or IP=In Progress, or PL=Planned: A -
College/University Where Completed: Name of my high school
Term: '99-'00

I think the important part is just to convey that you're entering a year long course that you took in high school. If you're filling out the IGETC portion, Berkeley doesn't care specifically about how you've completed your requirements; they're just making you verify that you're not mistaken when you say you'll complete it. It's your community college that actually does the leg work and certifies that you're good to go.

the deadline is approaching....think it's ok to just leave those 3 rows blank and check the box thats says i've completed 3 or more high school language courses with a c or better?
