myBerkeleyApplication UC Transferable Courses Summary

I'm trying to fill out the required forms.

In the form that tells me to input my units, it tells me that I can't put decimals. What do I put then? I have a 1.5 unit transferable course on my transcript. The form won't let me put decimals. What should I do about the decimal?

Also, that same form says to only put coursework from CCC. Can I include my units from AP tests? Do I have to check the box that says "I have completed other college-level coursework outside a California community college."?

I believe there’s a comment section at the bottom of the page right? Maybe use that to include your units from AP exams.

Huh, I managed to fill in mine with a 2.5. That’s weird. Maybe it’s a glitch?

I tried it again and it submitted this time. I’m still not sure how I should include units from AP.

I would also love some clarification on the AP credits.

For those of you who’ve filled out the IGETC form, how did you fill in high school courses, specifically regarding the space provided for the Language Other Than English requirement?

I checked the box that I took at least three years of foreign language in high school, but I’m not sure if that’s all I need to do, or if I need to actually type in the Spanish courses I took. . . . And even then, there’s the problem of there only being three course slots, and that there are two grades attached to each year of study, for each semester. (Ugh!!!)

Thanks, if you know the answer!

Since this has become a question thread. I have also a question of my own regarding the IGETC form as well:

For the physical and biological sciences section… there are 2 boxes for each. One that says with lab and one that says without lab. So if I took oceanography for physical but didn’t take any labs for physical, I would put ocean in Physical Science Without Lab and leave Physical Science with Lab blank?

And if I took Anthro and the Anthro Lab for biological sciences, I would put Anthro in Biological Science With Lab and leave Biological Science Without Lab blank?

If so, then where would I put down the lab that I took? Confused… :/

@briceies: On the first column it says “LOTE - HS Course, College Course, AP Exam.” I only put the course title, but I don’t know how to fill out the rest.

@iMunster: You only need to fill out one row for each requirement. One with lab and the other without lab so it’s okay to leave blanks for one row in each requirement. For your anthro course and the lab, just combine the two. For example, if your anthropology course was 3 units and the lab for that class was 1 unit, fill out the row Biological Science With Lab for Anthropology for 4 units and leave the without lab row blank.

I’m getting super confused… so this summary DOESNT include AP credits right? Just the credits from actual UC transferable courses youve taken? Or… do we put that in row 14 w/ the planned/passed credit courses? since my AP credits covered certain courses…

& if we have AP credits, we just check off that box saying “I have completed other college-level coursework outside a California community college.” right?

And for the total units at the very top, does that include units you are planning to take in the spring?

Just making sure… thanks!

For the lab/no lab thing, I put my lab (Astr 140) in the physical science with lab component (1 unit), and i put the class (Astr 109) in the physical science without lab component (3 units).

@Sunnybanana No. You do NOT check that box saying “I have completed other college-level coursework outside a CCC” regarding AP’s. Those are only for people who have taken classes OOS, internationally, or privates etc etc.

Only input the units from your college courses. Explain the AP scores and what courses they are covering in the “additional comments” section.

Cool, well, if it’s a Q&A thread already:

I’m getting so confused by this, one of my prerequisites for psych has a list of classes that directly articulate to a class at Cal, and a list of classes that are acceptable but don’t really have Cal equivalents. I took the later, and in the major prerequisite section on myBerkeleyApplication it only has places to fill in classes for those that have a match at Berkeley. My class was on assist, and I really wanted to make sure to do all the prerequisites they listed, and now I’m worried my class isn’t as good as the others. I just wrote down that I took this class in the box at the bottom. Is this going to hurt my chances?
