MyMIT is down for new forms?

<p>Today at I gone mymit to check out if application come out yet(like i do everyday).
"The MyMIT web site is unavailable due to a scheduled upgrade. Please check back again soon. We apologize for any inconvenience.</p>

<p>Please visit our new online admissions community at mitadmissions.org."
Also files in a pdf directory at mitadmissions.org which contains the last years application forms deleted recently.So I think(I hope) they are uploading the new applications form.</p>

<p>Ofc it can be also a false alarm</p>

<p>in the comments section he says, “EC information will be posted when the application goes live. I promise I’ll have news about that tomorrow.” He said that yesterday.</p>

<p>It looks like the application is being posted online (I hope!) but I could also be wrong. =)</p>

<p>also, if you go to the page describing the freshman application, it used to say something about “the freshman application will be available in late summer”. </p>

<p>and now it says nothing about that, just the normal application-y stuff!</p>

-last years app forms from /pdf/ directory cleaned
-my.mit.com is closed for update

-when you click “When will the 2010 freshman application be available?” from homepage ,it opens a page with no info about date(which page was saying “it will be late summer” few days ago)</p>

<p>it seems pretty obvious, they started uploading applications.But the real question isn’t when they started.Real question is when they will finish :slight_smile: hoping it will be soon</p>

<p>I just got bored from checking every minute and just to prevent myself to go totally insane I started working on some kinda website change dedection macro :)</p>

<p>Dex, you can access myMit now. It doesn’t give you the upgrade message but I can’t log in.</p>

<p>It changed! Now instead of MIT’s we’re-updating-it page, I get Firefox’s redirect-loop page.</p>

<p>Or maybe my computer is just being mean, and it’s actually something else now. What are you getting?</p>

<p>lidusha, i’m using IE8 and when I log in it keeps trying to refresh and all it shows is the MIT banner at the top and a blank white page.</p>

<p>Ah yeah, it looks like same thing for you, only I guess IE doesn’t stop and tell you it’s not going to load.</p>

<p>I bet after they upload it they still won’t let us access it until some scheduled release date, which will be blogged about today. But hope! hope! hope that it will be up today! We’ve waited years for this, and it’s today, or tomorrow at worst. I wonder if the Admissions committee knows that while they’re uploading, we’re (or at least I am) trying to keep from jumping up and down when we should be learning how to use Unix. Ahhhhhh!</p>
