<p>I wish they would wait a week. We live overseas but have a US mailing address and mail always takes us almost 2 weeks to get here. While the "writing is on the wall" in all likelihood, it still seems abrupt. </p>
<p>I am not sure what the big hurry has to be to change the portal, but it seems to me that if MIT admissions is willing to let people learn this way, then they should also be willing to send e-mails as a primary form of notification!!</p>
<p>My son is not at the edge of his seat, fortunately. He doesn't frequent CC and probably doesn't even know the news is in the mail from MIT at this moment!! Unlike many here my son hasn't had the MIT dream for 12 years, etc...however I still think he deserves to hear whatever he hears in a dignified manner.</p>

<p>Looks like MyMIT changed right at midnight (EST) for admitted applicants. Waitlisted and rejected applicants won't see any difference.</p>
<p>In other words, if you haven't received your decision yet and you don't wish to find out online, you DON'T want to log in to your MyMIT account until your decision comes in the mail.</p>
<p>Robyrm - the reason we couldn't wait is b/c CPW falls very early this year and folks need time to register and arrange for travel...</p>

<p>nope. nothing at my house up till today. but post service at my country is horrendous. I'm not sure if DHL will pass it to another courier service. if it is passed to the national courier one, then it's a goner.</p>
