MyPennState status on applications

Ugh i just need to know the anticipation is killing me. I am a transfer student looking to get into Penn State University Park, I went to Penn State personally to see if all my credits from my previous college transferred and if I had all the requirements to apply and be eligible. The answer was yes so that is exactly what I did. I applied a month ago from today which was October 9th. I have checked my Penn state profile many times… more like everyday. I just received a message today about my application status saying the following: “Your application is currently under review. We have received everything required to complete your application. Once a decision is made, it will be posted here.” So is it closer than I think to hearing an answer back? or…???

That doesn’t tell you anything about timetable. It just means that they have everything and you are in review. Which is good news. You don’t need to send anything else in. The next status you see will be your decision but it doesn’t tell you when. I know literally nothing about transfer applications or how they are handled, but if they are handled in the same way as freshmen applications, that could still mean not hearing until January. My daughter had the “under review” status for almost 5 months for entering 2015 class. But she was a freshman applicant and applied the day applications opened.

thanks so much for answering! I just dread this whole process. I really hope I get lucky and hear back soon but who knows…

@jlhpsu Do you get an email saying a decision has been made and for you to check your decision online? Or do you have to check online everyday to see if your decision posted?

@app2282 You will not get an e mail. You have to just check your portal everyday. When my daughter was accepted 2 years ago we never got an e mail - just portal and then package in the mail. My son applied directly to a branch campus this year and it was the same thing - he got accepted on the portal and then a few days later he got the package in the mail.
