For me personally, I feel like a lot of the people on it (young girls in particular) aren't aware of the excess of personal information that they are providing and the potential danger it could cause them. There are so many pictures of fourteen year old girls pushing their elbows together to make their boobs bigger and heavily making themselves up before they take the classic "self taken" myspace photos that don't even resemble themselves.

i hate it
i dont feel the need to shut it down, though
basically its for kids who have digital cameras and arent afraid to use them...then they try to get 5000 friends by saying things like "ur hott. add me"
its really quite stupid.
im a blogger person, myself.

MySpace? I like it because more people I know use it, but at the same time I really really like the clean look of Facebook (HS style so far..)

Myspace tends to be a bit emo.... but to me... meh, I have no complaints. I have a small friends list, because I actually limit the number of friends I know. Any random Invites? Declined (asking who they are first of course). Anyone I am not too friendly with? Declined. (no questions asked)

Myspace is stupid in my opinion. I used to have one, but then everyone made it seem so...pathetic... like you put your picture up and people are supposed to comment on your face. I don't know, it was just so superficial and dumb. Everyone I knew was competing to see who could get the most friends and comments. Can you say: no life? So last month I deleted it forever (it's seemed like a long time). sigh of relief

At my school, it's a HUGE thing. I don't care for it. I don't have one. It looks stupid, a bunch of strangers adding comments, you posting random pictures. It's a freakin' photobook, a fad. I'll sit and watch it die down.

I like it because that is the only way I can keep in touch with my friends outside of emails and chatting. Phone calls are too expensive cross-Pacific and sending/receiving pictures of what is currently going on is so much easier on Myspace. No one said you had to make your profile available to everyone!

I use Myspace...why? I have no idea...I only recently started, and many of my "friends" are not really that friendly with me...just people from classes and whatnot...I have no place in the social hierarchy, so the people who are my friends on there range from some strange, goth, firefighting girl, who once tried suicide, to the preps...

i really hate myspace. it ruined one of my closest friendships.

also, i agree with what the article said.

also, i still regularly use mysapce because it keeps me updated on social events, see people from my past who i never talk to, and gives me tabs on everyone.

I hate most blogs. I only really like the biggie blogs, which are really more about a subject than the actual personal. My favorite is Joel on Software, which is about, you guessed it, the software industry.
