Mysterious Email

So I recieved an email today from the U.Va. Admission Office (undergradadmission@virginia.edu).

Greetings!

Please join us for a program hosted by Emory University, The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the University of Virginia. The evening will be an introduction to our respective institutions and a discussion of our admission and financial aid processes.

We hope to see you.

Courtyard Seattle Bellevue/Downtown

*I have never been to their site nor have I signed up to be on their mailing list. I am wondering if they saw my scores and decided to email me this information or if it is totally random. I think I am just wondering if anyone knows why i recieved this email. Was it intended to go to every high schooler in my area or selected ones?

Thanks.

No of course not... they're secretly watching you wherever you go.

jk. They probably got your info from your PSAT scores.

My son got the same email -- different date and locale, but same on-the-road show.

lolz .

My son has received letters from schools he has never even heard of! Stevens Institue of Technology sent him 3 pieces this week alone. Kansas State has sent him the letter than was most tailored to his interest. I am not sure he could find Kansas on a map!!
