is it true that if you apply to huntsman ED, you have a higher chance of being deferred than if you just apply to one of the colleges? also, if you are denied admission to huntsman, will your single-degree chance also go down?

can someone clarify this for me? thanks

Myths. The admissions piles are completely different.

That being said, do not look at applying for Huntsman (or any other Joint-Degree program, for that matter) as an opportunity to have two chances of getting in - the applications are passed if you are deferred; yet, of course, if you are not seen as a candidate for either the program or the school you apply to, then your application will not be considered.

To reiterate, it's not at all like you get a red x by your name if you get deferred from Huntsman when your application gets sent to the school of your choice.

an adm. officer told me that chances dont go down when deferred from huntsman...

In the hunstman website theres something that says that most applicants from hunstman are deferred from ED; however, you can chek the box of ED binding, so that instead of being deferred, you go directly to the wharton or CAS pool under ED.
