MyUCLA web site

mine are different too. i dont think it matters. doubt you’ll use the my admissions one ever again after Friday.

Am I the only one who thinks its weird that almost everyone can access financial aid? I mean I find it hard to believe we’re all in.

@imnotfreud & @itsgoodmetal, the email does NOT include the decisions

@mestudystuff, that’s normal? no one has the same logon for the decision site and URSA/myUCLA. you login to the decision site with your application ID, birthday, etc, but you login to URSA and myUCLA with the UCLA Logon ID that you created.

@hellolily, actually many people can’t see their finaid, myself included. it just seems to be the case that most of the people who CAN are anxious to find other indicators here as well

Okay thanks justinetruant.

It seems that some people couldn’t access housing, but then more and more people are getting access. Some people don’t have “Transfer” student listed. So I think because that has more of a dichotomy, it’s a better sign. I think the Fin Aid is just pulled from Fafsa, unless you have an actual award, and I don’t think they give awards until you give them an intent to register.

the finaid is actually the best indicator. there seems to be some confusion as to what that actually looks like.

in URSA, if you login to “view financial awards summary” and you get a list that includes student/parent contribution with a total number of expected need at the bottom, that is the POSITIVE finaid indicator, and virtually everyone with that information for the past 4 years has been accepted (with 3 exceptions who were at fault)

I trust your neurosis. I have an expected need #. See you at UCLA?

@ Justine

What does your financial aid look like?

okay so i just texted my friend who goes to UCLA with my housing app front page and he said our ID’s were almost similar, in fact only 3 digits were different. OMG this **** is leading me on harder than a dirty little whore…

I would love to believe I’m in because I can see financial aid completed and see the housing application, but it’d be more heartbreaking to think I’m in and get rejected.

@justine: what were the 3 exceptions?

This is what mine says:

Summary 2012-2013 Academic Year

Housing Status: Off-Campus
Financial Aid File Status: Incomplete
Financial Aid Notification (FAN): Not Available
Cost of Attendance: $##,##.00
Student Contribution: $#.00
Parent Contribution: $#,###.00

Total Financial Need: $##,###.00

Awards 2012-2013 Academic Year

No Award Information available for this Award Period.

Note: There is no way for my fin aid to be complete anyway because of the citizenship thing.

@hellolily
I feel the exact same way. If I don’t get in tomorrow it’ll be worse than if I never considered this URSA stuff

okay i got into myucla. My full name is at the top right corner with a thin black graphic under my name. But there is a thicker white bar over that black graphic. But if i go click a different page within myucla, the white bar goes away. Good sign yeah?

how far do you have to go on the housing application to know if you can really apply? I’m afraid that I’m going to end up paying or doing something wrong…

you do not need to work on the housing app, you just need to be able to know that you can access it as an indicator.

earlier i was not able to access it, and now i can…according to the trend last year i mean…

but who knows still right?

so basically, as long as you can click on “apply online”?

I love how insane you sound right now.

Anyway
I got into myUCLA

I get an error:
Unable to retrieve your list of academic terms! If you are a new student, check back here after you have enrolled in your classes. (error: 2059928068)

No admit, no major, the white bar is blank.

Word!

"No admit, no major, the white bar is blank. "

me too

If the thin black graphic is larger than 5 pixels, you’re in. Everyone knows that.

Okay, going to class.
