MyUCLA web site

@moon, originally I really had my heart set on Cal, but to be honest, now I’m starting lean a little bit toward UCLA!

I got into the my.ucla page and no major, nothing under financial tracking and nothing under housing. I do have the white bar under my name, but my major is unknown. I can’t wait to find out tomorrow, I want my life back!

YO guys… when you log into the decision portal thing does it show your ucla student id number in the top right corner?? Is this just some generic bs or what…

anyone?

@backinthegame, if you recently accessed myUCLA for the first time, then your bar will be blank for about 30 mins or so, after which “summer session” should appear. myUCLA is updated at 3AM, so if your bar is going to change to reflect your major, it won’t do so until that time.

@rickross, yes, everyone has a student ID from the decision portal

@justine: thank you!

best of luck to all… wishing the best for everyone. time to get some zzz’s

@justine: totally opposite of me. I was set to go for UCLA, now I’m really considering UCB because of my major.

Justine where did you find out that your MyUCLA is updated at 3am. I still have the white bar that says summer session and unknown. I just gained access this afternoon

@moon, what’s your major?

I know that if I go to Cal, I’ll get to study under some of the most brilliant minds in my field, but I have grad school to consider. frankly, my major is slightly easier at UCLA, and I need an excellent GPA to get into a good grad school!

@socal, they update myUCLA every night at 3AM. if you hang around until about 1AM or so, myUCLA will have a little red announcement at the top that tells you

bah! I’m getting antsy. I have a story deadline next week for the schools paper and I have an interview to give tomorrow! I need sleeeeeep but I cannooooot! LOL

Anyone else see this page change?

http://■■■■■■/qvUg

My affiliation changed from none (I think) to what is pictured above.

@yseoooO0OOo0OOoo, yeah, a few other people have that. not everyone does, though, and plenty of people with the indicators don’t have it. as such, I can’t really say either way if it is a common indicator, but it certainly appears to be a good one! :)))

@justine: haha, true in your case then. I’m hoping to double major actually, Asian study + CS.

WAIT, I retract my above statement. I just double-checked, and my affiliation has changed from “none” to “student@ucla.edu.” this is NOT an indicator of anything, but rather a reflection of the fact that the system thinks I’m a student because of my summer enrollment trick.

@moon, that’s awesome! Cal is definitely where you want to be then, especially for asian studies. I have a few friends studying there for the same thing.

I wasn’t able to get into single undergraduate housing, but it did let me get into student single family housing and it showed me my id#. Also when I logged on tonight it asked me to create my official UCLA email address; my name@ucla.edu. I don’t see anything under my major, but it says unknown. Ughhh…can’t wait till tomorrow. I’ll know by the end of next week whether I’m going to be a Bruin or a Bear…or neither!

@justinetruant

I did the summer thing and it still says None for me.

@backinthegame: only single undergraduate housing is a positive indicator. the other areas mean nothing as far as chances go.

the email address upon logging into URSA is normal and happens to all of us after accessing summer enrollment. no indicator there.

we’ll know tomorrow! eep :)

@ocean: I did the summer thing before you. regardless, having it or not having it is not an indicator of anything if you did the summer enrollment hack.

if you didn’t do the summer enrollment hack and you see “student@ucla.edu,” that is a different story and you should speak up now! :)

@justine: =) that’s good to hear. I wonder why u changed your mind?

@moon, from Cal to UCLA, you mean?

@oceanpartier: did you do the summer thing today? I had the same yesterday, but after 3am update, mine was changed from none to student.

@justine: yea

@moon, well, I feel the environment and the academics would be more conducive to my success as an undergrad. my draw to Cal over UCLA has been more for my biased idea of prestige than anything else. I mean, it helps that I’m from the bay area, too, but I need to consider academics as well.
