oh, cool. well that is fine because the Feds pay the interest on your loans while you are in school for up to that amount. i am just sick of starving while attending classes. i am super healthy and eating right is expensive. haha. so i will borrow some cash from the feds, no problem. but i am older and it will not be hard for me to pay the money back once i can return to work. just gotta get my degree. having so much fun in school. i have the same financial aid package as UC kitty. and i am thrilled! because i have been working full time since i was 15.

uckitty:
you will have 100k? yes, you will lose some of your financial aid. they might list that as assets and you will be (rightly) expected to contribute some money to your education. shocker! haha

don’t tell me that you sued your employer for all that money? fish eye haha

they were punitive damages and half lost wages…

sometime before i transfer i will get it, maybe, because were working out the final details. maybe no later than end of the year.

hmm. so WHY are you whining about tuition? just pay the tuition when you get the money. for crying out loud. the rest of us are starving. sheesh.

I’ve been fighting this for 3 years, i don’t know the def date, i just won the default judgment, it will take some while.

haha, thank you for all the help north beach, you are super knowledgable. I’m taking it you live in north beach sf.

yes! i love north beach. good luck with school. i am happy that you will be able to afford tuition and rent, great that you will have the funds to pay for everything! you must be so happy. and i have been working since i was 15—much longer than three years.

are you serious, I’m 23, been working since i was 16. my mom is a single mother and I’m the only child, when we were young we didn’t even have a car, if my mom was sick yo, we had to ride bikes to the hospital.

oh I’m from hunters point too if it means anything…

and after reviewing options, i might pass on UCLA. i can get better housing in davis and cheaper housing at that…and its closer to my mommy.

we gotta chill next time i go to SF.

uckitty
dude, get real. you have been accepted into the second highest ranked public school in the country, and that is UCLA. davis is a top notch school. but you want to go to davis to be closer to your mommy. dude don’t mess with me. UCLA or bust. don’t let me down.

@northbeach I just googled and it seems like you can earn around 8k without having to report it. nicee

@uckitty YOU HAVE THE BOARD TO CONSIDER. DO IT FOR THE BOARD. haha

I’m over here dying.

i could never trade you guys for the world.

@northbeach, dude! if i could get the housing down, with a good spot i would be good. I’m looking at places in davis, my own master with own bathroom for 600, in a beautiful home.

i might have to bust. but then again i always wanted to live that laguna beach life.

ima just go into lurking mode and report back after my next decisions come.

@uckitty, also, though: davis w/ large private room + davis women; l.a. with smaller possibly shared room but L.A. women

not saying either tops the other, of course, because women can’t be ranked, BUT . . .
ponder away!

^^^ SEE, this is what I’ve been saying! 2br, 800+ sqft apartments in Davis for less than 900! where else can you get that! =/.

@Philo: ok awesome, thanks for that info. If you are only 2000 for work study you might as well get another job and make 4 times as much without having to report it. It’s easy to stay below 8k a year. Assuming you find a job with minimum wage, you just work less than 20 hours a week.

Philosoup
thank you so much for posting that info. good work!

and uckitty, listen to justine! if you can’t see that UCLA is one of the best schools on the PLANET EARTH. think of all the babes in LA. come on dude. don’t mess with us. think of the board. oh, wait, when you are a grandpa you will tell your kids that you did not go to UCLA cuz you wanted to stay close to your mommy… oh no, don’t let that happen. use the 100k to buy a sportscar. vroooom LA here we come.

@iDizzle

hehe. there is a REASON that the rents are cheap in davis. catch my drift? ever hear of Santa Monica? Sunset Blvd? Hollywood Hills? Venice Beach? i don’t think they are located in Davis. hahahahaha

LMAO!! That was great.

is it still peer pressure if we’re pressuring him to go to an internationally-ranked university?

^ no, it is like throwing cold water on the face of someone who is hysterical. haha. poor UCKitty, getting so much grief. you will thank us later.

well, money is a big factor here, and I understand the need for my own, private space, so I would probably choose Davis BUT . . . palm trees and women.

^^ LOL. Yeah i’ve been looking at places in Westwood, Santa Monica, and Culver city. Not bad and they allow cats =]
