N.e.

are all of you here only considering schools in the New England region?

I think most people are. I'm pretty sure Johnathan K. is considering schools in Cali. If that is something you are looking into, try talking to him or reading some old posts.

I'm pretty much looking towards n.e schools.

My sis is thinking about Switzerland!! But IDK if she is still for it.

I would love to go to boarding school in Switzerland, that would be like a dream school to skiing-obsessed me... but I think my mum and dad couldn't stand having me so far away (they don't want me to go ANYWHERE, as it is), so I haven't really researched any other schools other than the usual NE ones. Calafornia would be wonderful, though....

Coming from NY, New England was the first place to look at when considering boarding schools. But as I have learned here, there are a great number of boarding schools all over the country and abroad.

Some of the boarding schools in N.E. have ski programs, so I guess thats the place to look if you are interested in skiing.

Tell me, I have heard that the European bs, were not nearly as good as the American BS. This would exclude GB

im looking at 1 school in north carolina. but thats just because my family lives there. the rest of the schools are in n.e.

I've heard this on another boarding school forum. I said I was considering applying to TASIS, but most people said I'd be much better off going to a boarding school in the U.S. or Canada.

JK, my d has a friend that has attended a number of TASIS schools in Europe. Her parents feel the education is mediocre at best. Of course that's one families opinion.

I think Sonja should check out the Canadian School at Neuchatel in Switzerland. This is a high end prep by Canadian standards, excellent education and in my days at least, excellent students. About half of Queen's University (the Canadian would be Princeton--actually the present president of Princeton did her undergraduate degree there) seems at some point have gone there. You would not be slumming

I heard that UCC was the most prestigious prep school in Canada. About a year ago, I was going to apply to Brentwood in Vancouver for eighth grade. I would probably apply to UCC if it were a co-ed school. (I don't want to do the all-boys thing) UCC is right in between my parents, which would be great.
