N.U.Bound : What exactly is it?

I’m accepted in to the N.U.Bound program which requires me take take my first two-semester year in China and then comes back to the Boston campus. It seems like a really new program and I’m wondering if anyone has more info to share? And what is the difference between the N.U.Bound and N.U.I.N.

It’s a brand new program, I’ve never even heard of it until now. For nu in fall, it was either you did it or you were not accepted in to northeastern. For the nu in fall, it was basically a transition for students from high school to college. It seems like they’re trying to make nu bound to help with the transition of studying outside the us to inside. I’m not sure what the advantages are, unless one is very nervous or uncomfortable with the idea of moving to the us to study. My roommate is an international student, but she attended an international school, so she was used to the “American” school system and was excited about coming to the states for school, rather than nervous.

The one thing that you should ask is the financial aid and if it’s mandatory. For the fall kids, they were not allowed to use financial aid unless it was awarded by the school and if they chose not to participate in the program, they could not attend northeastern.

First, congrats on the acceptance! Well done.

Both programs are a way for the University, frankly, to increase revenue. It means they can accept more kids as these other programs serve as dorms/classes. Saying that in no way takes away from your very real accomplishment. Many colleges are doing this now.

My son had a number of friends from his Boston area HS who did NU In and had a great experience. So enjoy your time abroad and then welcome to Boston!
