<p>I'm planning on getting my first name legally changed. I've already been accepted to a college and am waiting to finalize my financial aid information in the spring. Should I begin the process now or wait until after the financial aid stuff is done to avoid complications? Is the process complicated?</p>

<p>It should not be that hard to change your name. Just it is a pain in the ass dealing with DMV and Social Security Number etc.</p>
