Do you think admissions officers ever google applicant's names?

I don't know about admissions officers, but alumni interviewers do. At least, an alumnus (not of Stanford) who interviewed my daughter did and said he found her MySpace. Of course, she had Googled him before the interview and learned a bit about him, too.

ooo i would NOT want an interviewer finding my MySpace.

me neither! :P

if they did, they would find that I am a Ph.D. at College of William and Mary for Computer Science; an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at University of University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; a post doctorate researcher of Computer Science at UC Riverside; an Assistant Professor of Biopharmaceutical Sciences at UC San Francisco; founder of a company that turn business ideas into software products using .NET technology; and author of a book about Tai Ji Quan.

and those are just the first 5 google results ;)

Some names will yield more hits than others. If I were to Google an applicant's name, especially if it were a common last name, I would add some additional restrictions, like city, state, high school, or perhaps a sport or other activity the student participates in. That might narrow it down enough to learn something interesting.

^ lol!

I'm just talented enough to be captain of an Olympic Crew team. I think that might possibly warrant me to be recruited. :)

I bet they do, if they think you're lying bout stuff..

I would love for them to see my myspace. hehe.

Ive searched myself and nothing comes up

: (

lol you should create an official-looking webpage that shows up on google and talks about you doing something really amazing and out there
