Hey guys, I'm sure many of you have seen the Hewlett Packard (HP) ad, where a man walks through his office building and as he walks to the elevator, the surrounding building changes colors/people/arrangement of cubicles. Meanwhile, there's a 70's or 80's song playing in the background...does anyone know the name of this song?

Try the 40s. The song is "Blue Skies", written by Irving Berlin. I think the singer is the late great Billie Holliday.

Mmm..I know which one you're talking about, but that's not the advertisement I'm referring to. It's pretty obvious what the title of that song is since the only lyrics in that are "...nothing but blues skies are what I see." I'm talking about another advertisement. The one you're referring to is where a man enters a building and goes to his office room. The advertisement I'm talking about has a different man in it, and he's ALREADY in the building when the advertisement starts...he then walks across the hallway and into an elevator and NOT into a room.

I'm pretty sure it's from the 70s or 80s - there's no doubt about it.

EDIT: Wow, I should have just done a Google search.

From HP's website: (http://www.hp.com/hpinfo/newsroom/hpads/tvmusic.html).

Change
Song: Blue Skies
Artist: Written by Irving Berlin; performed by Maxine Sullivan

*** Constant Change ***
Song: Baba ORiley
Artist: Written by Peter Townshend; performed by The Who

Who ever knew that companies post the songs, played in advertisements, on their websites?

Ohh, I have a question too. There's another HP commercial with a guy sitting at a desk putting white frames in front of his face and it sort of takes a picture of his face, and he's printing out pics on a digital camera. There's a song playing that goes something like, "Picture book, picture for your mama. . . ." Anyone know what that song is called?

Song: "Picture Book"
Artist: The Kinks

Ahh! You are awesome, thanks so much.

I like those commercials. You seem to know a lot about the HP commercials and the songs. Any reason or just like the music?

I just like the music from the advertisements; advertising has always produced great, and often unknown music (i.e. Mitsubishi's advertisement which made the band, Dirty Vegas, famous).
