Nano or Classic

I'm getting an iPod (finally), but I can't choose between the 8gb nano and 80 gb classic. I like the size of the nano, but I'm worried that I won't have enough room, especially if I download videos. How long does it really take to fill up a nano, and which would you recommend?

I have the 80gig classic and I love it

I keep all my music, books, pictures and movies on there

but I also have a nano(it was a gift) for when I want to got jogging or exercising .

It really depends on what you are going to use it for.
If your an active person I would suggest a nano
but if you hoard music and videos along in large quantities I would suggest a classic

Get a Zune.

If you’re downloading a lot of videos, get the classic.

Agree that if you’re going to use it largely for videos, classic is better.

Classic. 8GB is nothing.

especially considering that 1 hour of video from the itunes store is over 600 MB

I got the 30gb Video still and I have to say, go for the classic. It may take a while, but eventually you’ll get 8gb of music. Also, sure the nano is smaller, but how much do you need that small size? Either will fit in your pocket just fine.

It would depend on how much music you currently have and at what rate you add to your music collection. Also, would prefer to have your entire library on your iPod, or would you be okay with having to rotate/switch out your music? Is portability a huge concern?

I went for the Classic over the Nano because my music collection passed 8 GB long, long ago.

8GB is pushing it.
80GB is excessive, but will always guarantee you a good safety net.

80 GB is hardly excessive. even if your collection is fairly small and is closer to 8 than 80 GB, you’d be better off with the classic just in case.

Would you honestly watch a lot of movies with your Ipod? That’s what I thought I would do, but I never have the chance to. Either I’m at home, or when I’m away from home, I never have any sit-down time to actually watch the movie. The last time I watched a movie was after I finished my exam in like 20 minutes for normal History. That was a good hour and some minutes to burn. But otherwise, I’ve never really found myself using it.

8gb is enough for me. i have around five thousand songs in my library but only the real good ones make it to my nano (2000 songs).
