I just recieved a letter in the mail that NAPS will start not in JULY, but in AUGUST!! Does this mean that there will be no plebe summer? Im freakin out man... If anybody else got this letter... lets talk.

Well, NAPS2007, the good news is that no, there will be no Plebe summer for you this year! The bad news (no! wait! it is good news, too!) is that there probably will be next year! :) Congratulations! You have a summer break before reporting, and, I believe, that you get a substantial stipend during your time at NAPS (at least compared to what you will get as a plebe.) One of my son's roommates is a NAPSter and was much more seasoned and prepared for the rigors of plebe summer than most. You'll do great! Enjoy your summer!

Hmm I guess this confirms the earlier rumor...why is this happening? Very strange.

What no...I almost wanted to have on to see what Plebe Summer would be like!! Would it be weird to be a little disappointed

01AUG86 - The day my rebirth commenced.

I'll never forget that day in Newport....

the fudge store :(

I don't know if they're doing away completely with Indoc (i hope not), but i have a feeling that the schedule change is due to complaints from high ranking people that Indoc is more hazing than training. I was up at NAPS last weekend and a few of the Napsters toook me around all day and most of the night and i found most enjoyable. They were happy to be there, they weren't overly stressed, and they had a great group of friends. They also were a more mature group for their age which i thought was great. I also heard rumors while i was there that they might do away with uniforms at NAPS and go to polo shirts and khakis (that's another thing i'm against).

I had the chance to look at our new living facilities. Instead of the previous 5 people to a shower, it's now 2 people to a shower. A NAPSter there said there are even tubs in some of the rooms. A downside to this is that the new building is going to be super clean, so we're going to have to keep it that way if/when Indoc comes around.

no uniforms? aw c'mon...that was part of the fun....

New building?

***?

yeah, it's a new barracks and i think there's a new classroom building. It looks really nice.

Pics! I want pics!

Where is it located?

Man, NAPS anywhere other than Nimitz Hall is just so WRONG! :(

it's located on the base end of the football field. It's right across from the OIS barracks.

Oh, man..... My age is showing.

When I was there, OIS was downstairs from NAPS!

I don't even remember where the football field is. Sheesh....

indoc was fun....It's an experience that I think is necessary....It's all mental

yeah, that's my perception.

Don't want to say I told you so but...

Told you there was no more indoc :)

why are they doing this though? or rather, NOT doing it?

"no uniforms? aw c'mon...that was part of the fun...."

You guys must not have to wear shirt-stays...or 'suck-straps'...other than those, I love wearing the uniform...but geez...i hate shirt-stays

i've got numerous bald spots on my legs where they rub and pull hair sometimes...it looks rather comical...

hahah DMeix...something i gotta see

Shirtstays are overrated and completely unnecessary if you know how to give yourself a good tuck.
