I'm wondering what types of essays are best in narrative form. I know the Common App essay is best to write as a narrative. What about the "Why us?" and the "Why do you want to pursue your chosen major?" or "How will your cultural experiences contribute to the community?" questions? For the application I've submitted so far, I didn't write the "Why us?" question in narrative form. Which essays are good to write in narrative format and which ones aren't? It seems difficult to answer many of these questions in narrative form. Any advice?

you could use a narrative for any essay as long as it’s interesting and gets the point across

I totally agree with sunsetskies. You’ve got to be able to pull it off! Any essay can be written as a narrative (except the short ones). So I guess that would exclude many “Why” essays as most of them are pretty short! Don’t focus on “I. Have. To. Write. In. A. Narrative. Format.” Do whatever feels right, whatever feels most “like you”.
