Narrow down my list or match suggestions?

I am trying to narrow down my list of reaches to those most likely and also add some match schools.. Any help?
I have a 2150 SAT (680 CR, 710 M, 760 W)
I have taken the most rigorous class schedule possible at my school (I tripled up on sciences some years)
Bio: 5 on AP, 750 on SAT2
Chem: 5, 730
USH: 6, 740
I have a 4.7 weighted GPA and a 4.0 unweighted
Rank: 1 or 2 of 200 (I'm only aware the 3rd rank has a 4.2)
I have great EC's

My list right now:
Cornell, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Rice, UPenn, WashU, Johns Hopkins, UVA, UNC, UMichigan

Estimated family contribution ? Intended major ? home state ? preferred college size ?

Size doesn’t matter
NJ
Family will pay all
Biochemistry

Family will pay $60K/year? If so, great. You have a bunch of reach schools on the list right now. Do you have a safety you would be happy to attend (like Rutgers)?

If you apply to UMichigan early and get an acceptance by Dec. you don’t need any real safety schools. If you don’t hear back from UMichigan by December, I’d suggest you add a safety or two – perhaps URochester or a school like that.

Rutgers has been reported to give full rides to high stats NJ residents. If you are a pre-med, think about saving the $240,000 so that you can apply it to expensive medical school.

elon university or butler university

rollins college may also be a place to check out.

Is umich binding?

No. You might like Wisconsin-Madison even better. It’s exceptionally strong in Biochemistry and has a more urban feel and a nicer campus, in my opinion. You can apply in September and get in in October. It should be a safety for you.

I’m not a big fan of UC schools because of California budget issues, but UCSD is a force to be reckoned with in biotech, plus San Diego weather, wow!

Otherwise, great list. Great SAT IIs. It’s worth studying for the SAT in October. You’re ok, but getting over the 700s on all would be nice.

Case Western, Rose Hulman. Case Western has nonbinding EA, and Rose Hulman is rolling. Caltech & MIT both have nonbinding EA as well.

I think cal tech and MIT are a little out of my league
I was planning on apply UNC EA but would UVA EA be a good idea as well?

Are you going to retest? If you can get your M+CR to 1400+ your chances may improve.

Are you premed?

Possibly pre-med… Not 100% sure though
I don’t plan on retesting considering I have three times, and the final time I only went up 10 points

How do you find out so early for U-Wisconsin

If you stay at #1 or #2 you automatically qualify for a merit scholarship of at least $20K at WPI. There is also the Chemistry and Biochemistry Scholars program…[Undergraduate Admissions: WPI Merit Scholarship Overview - WPI](http://www.wpi.edu/admissions/undergraduate/apply/merits.html)
They also have non-binding EA (two rounds).
RPI might be another option.

They have rolling admissions. They start reviewing applications Sept 15, and decisions start coming out around the 2nd week in October. Basically, if you’re a really strong student and it’s a no brainer that you’ll be admitted (which it is - they have to fill a freshman class of 6000 students), you will be admitted about 3-4 weeks after you apply if you meet the priority deadline of Nov 1. Their admissions are very low bs, and very predictable.

For a match school, consider U Rochester - esp if you’re interested in research, not so much if you aren’t.

Tufts and Holy Cross both strong in sciences with HC HAVING GREAT PRE-MED PROGRAM.

Would case western be more of a match or reach?
