Narrowing school list

I started the TMDAS app for my son, thinking that he may be interested UT Southwestern. He made it very clear that he doesn’t want to apply there. Therefore, I didn’t dig too far on that question. I did read on SDN from more than one poster that they didn’t list all of their AMCAS schools on TMDAS, but didn’t have any issues anyways.

kal,
“The Wolverines don’t like the Buckeyes. It is a well known fact in the college football world”
-Yes, correct. I was just hoping that it is college and Med. School is not at that level. D. did not even apply to U of M UG, she would love to atten there, but we knew she woudl not get any Merit $$. And she did not go to OSU. But, yes we are OH, and she had very good choices, so not much dissapointment here, just strange “un-proffessional” attitude towards an applicant. I do not know how to call it. As I said, a simple rejection would be much more respectful. Anyway, she is happy where she is now, and that is all the matter. I wonder if she would consider Ann Arbor for residency application. She loves the place. All will depend on her Step 1 score (few more days…)

I think many applicants end up with a school that just totally ignores them. Well. Except for taking their money. They all appear to find a way to do that. ;)

^Here’s looking at you, University of Chicago.

Well OSU must not reciprocate. A friend of my D attended U-M UG (in-state) and is now attending medical school at Ohio State. :o

"Here’s looking at you, University of Chicago. "
-Not really. Chicago was one step ahead of Michigan in our case. They have sent rejection, they did not ignore completely. From what I heard, they usually send rejections, this might have changed over time.

Regarding the discussion about sharing where you’re applying: Rice asked that question on their UG applicstion. My son listed a number of peer schools, including his brother’s uni, to show he was interested in different parts of the country. My son got into a lot of schools, but didn’t get into Rice. And no, he didn’t go to his brother’s school.

i would add ohio state- they have merit scholarships even for OOS but they are not pass fail which some future scholarships depend upon
