DD has applied to 11 @ 3 different locations. Has anyone who applied heard anything? Is it a completely passive process - submit and wait - or are there other steps to take that might help?

@ATWells April 15th will be the day everyone hears if we are talking about the same program. Are you talking about the NASA SEES internship or NASA OSSI?

@KG5APR yeah it was really fun, esp if your mentor spends a lot of time with you and if there are friendly grad students willing to work with you. The food there (cafeteria) sucks, but if you have a ride outside, downtown mountain view has amazing food. Pretty relaxed overall, and it’s really cool when they have representatives from the white house and stuff come down to look at your work
@y0l0lsen The experience seems incredible! I hope I get in! I will have to wait until April 15th to find out my decision. I do nott know how I am going to stand the wait for college decisions…
@KG5APR I was speaking about the NASA OSSI (and didn’t know about the SEES).
Has anyone from Texas viewed your video yet? Because no one from there has viewed mine… which leaves me wondering if my teacher submitted the rec letter. I reminded him two days before the deadline and he said he’d get it done on time, but I’m worried now…
Little late, but I also applied to SEES, with Astronomy as my first choice. Nobody from Texas has seen my video, but I got an email today asking to have my letter resent (they lost it in spam) so they must be looking through them now. @tonystarkofwinterfell They probably would have emailed you too if they didn’t have a letter, so I wouldn’t worry about it.
@tonystarkofwinterfell and @schrodingersowl I live in Texas so…yes. I’m not sure if it was NASA or not but I do have three unexplained views…
Oh thanks guys! I was super worried. I trust my teacher (and I know he would have written a great rec for me), but he’s really busy all the time, so I was afraid he had forgotten, especially since decisions come out in 11 days and no one has viewed my video. The only views for my video are from California, where I live, so pretty sure they’re just me scrutinizing every detail.
