My child received an acceptance email this evening. Because of COVID, the program is going to be online this year

@iamomd Congrats! No news here. Did anyone receive a rejection or waitlist?

My Child got in too. Acceptance email says out of 600 completed applications, top 9% list is made. If acceptance is not received by 21st April, an alternate will be accepted in your place.

@ausmom & @iamomd - do you mind if I ask what region you are in?

New york state

Texas

ooo I got in too! See you all in the fall/spring! :slight_smile: which team are you on?

@ilovespace Did they postpone the internship to fall/spring?

@Sisternight internship is virtual over summer (2 week residential part is cancelled) a 3 day weekend fall/spring outing to NASA-Houston depending on COvid-19 conditions

I think that the internship program response varied based maybe on the student’s age and location? My daughter is a sophomore now. She will participate in the virtual program this summer and then was given automatic acceptance to next summer’s onsite program (July 2021). No mention was made to her about a 3day trip to NASA in the fall, perhaps because we are further away in New York?

@iamomd I think that might be because she’s a sophomore and has one more year of eligibility? I got in too (as a junior/rising senior), and didn’t get anything about acceptance to next summer’s onsite program, but did get something about the long weekend trip. Makes sense, though, because it’s not for seniors, but your daughter would still be eligible next year

@nikibanana same here, I’m a junior and they mentioned in the email that since I was a junior I would be eligible for the trip to the Space Center since this will be the last summer we can participate. Also, if you don’t mind me asking, what team were you selected to?

@starrynight922 the ICESat (Measuring Changes with Altimetry) team!

@nikibanana Wow! I remember reading the project description for that and it was pretty cool. I got accepted into the Mars team and I’m so glad we still have the virtual option this year :smiley: Also, did you happen to receive the email with more information about SEES after sending the confirmation to participate in the program?

@starrynight922 your project sounds pretty cool as well! I haven’t received anything yet regarding new information. Have you?

@nikibanana I didn’t, so I got a bit worried and asked around.
On another thread, someone else got a response to their confirmation email, so I emailed SEES just in case and they said they had sent an email, so maybe it got lost?
Anyway, they said that they had received my information so I think it’s fine :’)

They also said that they would email out new information about the virtual program in the next coming weeks, so that’s good!
