NASA SEES Internship at UT

Does anyone know how competitive this internship is/ the admit rate and how many students are accepted each year?

My DD did it last summer. Acceptance was 9% of 600 applications.

Has anyone heard anything about whether NASA SEES will be happening this summer or whether it might be a virtual internship?

It says on the website that a decision has not been made to continue or discontinue the program. I am getting kind of nervous.

UTA stands for UT-Arlington.

It is virtual this year! I just got the email!

I got accepted as well! What project were you accepted into?

I got accepted too! I was totally not expecting that. I’m part of the Mars 2020 team!

@starrynight922 I am part of the mars team too!

hi guys! thanks for all your feedback! I found out I got in this year yay! I was assigned to the mars 2020 team!!

uta is university of Texas at Austin

@ilovespace and @geedubz895lma0 I’m so excited! I was really scared that it would be canceled but thank goodness it went virtual  Also, did you happen to get a return email from SEES with information about the program after sending the confirmation email?

@starrynight922 yep! it was a short email. I think we’re going to receive more information about how the program will be run online

@geedubz895lma0 Ohh I see! I didn’t get one so that’s why I wanted to ask around and - I just got an update - apparently, their return email didn’t send! I’m good to go though so that’s a relief ! I’m so excited to be on the mars team.

Nope UTA stands for the Arlington campus. You don’t want to embarrass yourself! The Austin campus is called UT or UT Austin.

My dad was a professor at UT for 52 years and I practically grew up on campus. ?

Oh haha yes the actual abbreviation of UTA is that but I was just saying that what i meant at the time by uta was university of texas at Austin, which i was wrong to say at the time haha. i apologize.

I got accepted into the Space Exploration for A Better World Team! super excited

omg yay congrats im so happy for you! r u a junior rn? hopefully we can see eachother during our visit to nasa johnson space center!

hi @ilovespace @decemberdreamer @starrynight922 @geedubz895lma0 @starshadow ! Ik it’s been two years, but i recently got accepted to NASA SEES and i was wondering how the program is structure/what you liked about it? I’m doing a virtual project this year so I’d assume it’s somewhat similar to the virtual projects done during the pandemic
