<p>Well, it was a dream of mine to get research this summer, had I stayed in high school so that I could have had a shot to Intel/Siemens/RSI, no matter how low. But now that I decided to go to college next year, there isn't anything that research experience could benefit me exceptionally in, except for REUs. </p>
<p>As I decided to go to university next year, I decided that a summer program at the local university would be better than research (had I stayed in HS I would be more inclined to choose research so that I could have some shot at RSI/Intel/Siemens). </p>

<p>I was accepted into the UW Honors program as a sophomore and think that the simple fact that you're a Honors student makes you more respectable when you want to approach a prof for a research project or something along the lines fo that.</p>
