Nasa Sharp

Haha.

10% ish. About 1400 this year applied for residential, 140 got in.

NASA Sharp's typical acceptance rate is about 10%. 140 people were accepted this year, out of about the 1,450 that applied.

Simfish, te tacere et ex hac disceptatione discedere oportet, nam, repulsus a NASA, ad hac non pertines. Si vere amor tui non nimis ingens est, abi nunc, aut te iterum ridebo.

Now can we get alone? You're not helping by continually defending yourself. points at thread title I fail to see the relevancy of doing so.

Ah, I was going to say 10% as well, but you all beat me.

"I later mentioned that these summer programs may reject exceptional applicants in favor of not-so-good applicants to help minorities adapt. It was a hypothesis, not an attack on NASA SHARP. I discussed this with my mother, who agreed on the same conclusion. "

i try not to bring parents into this. but id have to say i dont blame ur mother for agreeing with you. i mean to have a kid like u, one would need something to blame one's misfortune of giving birth to a failure on.

"Most people recognize this and have told you on CC, especially because you find a way to write about how you are going to UW next year in every single post, no matter what the post is acutally about."

“Well, it was a dream of mine to get research this summer, had I stayed in high school so that I could have had a shot to Intel/Siemens/RSI, no matter how low. But now that I decided to go to college next year, there isn't anything that research experience could benefit me exceptionally in, except for REUs. “

“As I decided to go to university next year, I decided that a summer program at the local university would be better than research (had I stayed in HS I would be more inclined to choose research so that I could have some shot at RSI/Intel/Siemens). “

That seems like a little more than a few of your posts, unless you consider the quick 18 posts that I found from within the last two weeks to be a few?

unlike some ppl on this board (not to mention any name), others rememebr what they read and can provide backing to their arguments rather than those just argue without anything and contradict one's self (not to mention name)

zoogies, I have noted your post and will try to refrain from posting too much. It's difficult to most people ro restrain themselves from responding to arguments, however. Umm yeah the Ben Golub-sakky flame wars in an inappropriate location are an example. We really need to all agree on a cease-fire so that this discussion can continue peacefully.

zpmqxonw, I made far more than 18 posts within the past 2 weeks. Furthermore, were any of my posts about the UW off-topic? The vast majority as I see them, were on-topic. Were any of them not on topic? Many of them were in the UWashington forum, where it was completely appropriate to discuss them.

now0520; I don't see you putting any evidence to your arguments in this thread/

I respect my mother. What was the point of such a comment?

ok can we please undersntad this, ppl have stuff to do rather than read back a million threads i mean zpmqxonw has patience (love her for it) but do u think i would really want to read ur posts again? (o yeah sidenote: maybe my lovely "mommy" comment is true since i iddnt get a response) but here is overview: i think not get in becuae im a minority (sole reason being), some rejectees (points to self) had better stats than some acceptees (points to others that u originally had doubts about)
Just because an argument didn't get a response doesn't mean that it owned me. Sometimes it's pointless responding to certain arguments. ANd I never said I didn't get in because I'm an Asian male. Ir probably did hurt me, but did not kill my application. If you look through my earlier NASA SHARP posts, I explained why I probably didn't get in. Asperger's + very low-level awards + the appearance of desperation

IN RESPONSE TO ZOOGIES'S BELOW POST:

Er, whoops. I meant along

Simfish, please read the latin a little more carefully. The english under it wasn't a translation, so I'm afraid you haven't gotten the full meaning of what I tried to say.

And you're not doing a very good job of refraining from posting.
I'm sorry but I don't understand Latin. Also, why address me directly, instead of now, who is making many more posts than I am? Since you first warned me to stop, I have made two posts.

IN RESPONSE TO NOW'S POST THREE POSTS BELOW:
why do u bother? i mean u (no SN) can u not edit ur freakin comments cuz thats just being a wuss, u can make more comments, cuz ppl usually write to respond after they read soemthing and it doesnt make sense for me to argue soemthing in my latter post if u are going to edit ur previous post to make me sounds illogical cuz its not gonna work, and uve done it twice already (editing)
Zoogies warned me to try to refrain from posting. This is why I'm editing, instead of posting new topics. I did not edit the original content of what I posted - I merely added new refutals.

point (as some of us cant comprehend): i give all sympathy to ur mother, shes taking some of the misfortunes away from seeing the world by facing u so u dont go out and scare the world, i thank her

fine i disagree with zoogies (sorry) u can post new entries now cuz it would make my comments look like logical (and it also adds to the # of post on a nasa sharp thread (just cuz its a wonderful program))

ok maybe i should make it easier for u to comprehend ur rejections than u trying to explain ur 3 components: u suck, programs no like sucky ppl, therefore they reject sucky ppl

Yeah, fish stop being a dumbass. Editing your posts 5 million times is really immature, not to mention stupid.

By the way, Marie Curie died a long time ago! You sound like you are obsessed with her. Actually, come to think of it, its probably better off that she is dead. That way you can't have sex (its obvious you want to **** her) with her and therefore can't produce any offspring, which would add to the stupidity of mankind!

no SN person, im glad u can count cuz apparently u cant do anything else (yes it is infact 4 comments in a row) but seeing that ur "edited" parts are supposed to intersect them they wouldnt be in a row, genius (o wait, u are anything but that)

simfish, it was our pleasure bashing you. im sure u enjoyed attempting to refute our comments as well. except u probably didnt gain as much as we did. we got points and amusement from laughing and sympathizing for the less fortunate (socially). we made a game out of bashing you and here are the final scores of the participants. (not done by me)

now0520= 50 Points (winner!)
zpmqxonw: 40 points
zoogies: 25 points
DrCore911: 30 point
so it was fun. i love you too. (im almost positive you will never those words from a human ever again so enjoy; but if u do hear them again, just tell whoever said them that i send all my sympathy)

I'm a participant? O_o

I hope this is not representative of all NASA SHARP participants.

i love how everyone makes it their duty not to make this thread die. i really hope i dont have to start bashing round 2 against u (if u want to join any team, u are welcome). but no, nasa sharp participants are not ignorant or conceited (like simfish which makes it apparent since he got rejected)

ok lala props to ur success at appearing helpless so im going to apologize now:
i m sorry i bashed u. even though it was on stuff that needed bashing cuz they were just annoying wrong and disgusting.
i m sorry if i scarred ur ego, u probably needed it.
i m sorry if u are crying on ur pillow to ur mother now.
i m sorry if i ruined the rest of ur life by point out reality to u.
