Nasa Sharp

No point in rebuting ad hominem attacks with little substance and no corroborating evidence. Why didn't you refute my non ad-hominem arguments?

ok first off, back off the freakin "ad hominem" its getting annoying, using it once or twice might make u look somewhat educated but thats just excessive. what are ur non WORD arguments?

once again:
quoted from self:
ok can we please undersntad this, ppl have stuff to do rather than read back a million threads i mean zpmqxonw has patience (love her for it) but do u think i would really want to read ur posts again? (o yeah sidenote: maybe my lovely "mommy" comment is true since i iddnt get a response) but here is overview: i think not get in becuae im a minority (sole reason being), some rejectees (points to self) had better stats than some acceptees (points to others that u originally had doubts about)

ok when ppl says game over stop, it kinda is a hint to leave it alone but if u want ill keep going just thought u were smart enuf to reanalyze urslef and think how we are helping you by giving honest opinions so u dont get jumped in college

dear god, let this thread DIE!!!!!!!!
RSI died
TASP died
SSP survives only because the 7 or so acceptees on cc are so devoted to it :)
Nasa Sharp survives because of some stupid rant????
Even if it is an internet forum, its still an eyesore to log on and see that more posts have been made in the argument in this thread.
Using the "stupid internet forum" excuse is pathetic. You are basically coming out and saying "since nobody is going to track me down in real life I will take advantage of my relative anonymity and pick on some kid because it is fun." Pathetic!
You guys could have let this thread die about four pages back, but all of you chose to continue it by heaping your stupidity onto the stupidity of others. No one is expecting simfish to sit by idly and take your abuse. Of course he is going to fight back! Be smarter than him and let this thread die!
It isn't even about the great program of Nasa Sharp anymore! If we do keep it alive, then at least keep it relevant to the thread title...

RSI died?..../goes off to..."fix" that...

I agree with kinglz. A person who goes completely out of their way to personally attack another in such a matter is not my kind of ideal fellow participant.

Just a thought.

Er, sorry. Yeah, let this thread die, please..

For the program that runs from June 20th to August 12th... Does that mean students fly out on the 12th or does that mean the job ends on the 12th and students fly out on the 13th?

Did you get into SHARP, Ragingg?
I think that it means students fly out on the 13th. I know that for my letter the dates were different than on the website, they listed the dates as starting one day before the website did and one day after the website said it ended.

Just got my acceptance letter to NASA Sharp commuter program!
I am soooooo excited.

tambone, where are u located and where'd u do ur interview?

I interviewed at Nasa Ames in Mountain View,CA and live nearby.

congrats tambone! what area are you looking into?

The rants were interesting at the starting but it has gotten old. Truth was told on both sides, correct? Every person has their own story of their dedication to their passion and the portrayal of this plays into their acceptance or rejection. I am not insinuating anything, I am merely explaining my point of view.
(haha i'm late, i just got back from my national robotics competition in atlanta so i'm playing catch-up)

and we don't have to let this thread die, but we don't need to keep it alive on an argument. I want to know more about the people who did/didn't get in! So answer this question:

** What activity (besides school/hw/classes) do you spend most of your time on?**

my answer: ROBOTICS. that was a silly question. To me, robotics is taking the real world and channeling it through a robotics competition. We have role models that we look up to and people that look up to us. Most of all, we're always willing to help each other as long as one party benefits. I have never seen another union that brings other people in with such open arms. I plan to be involved with robotics (especially US FIRST -- a competition that lasts 6 weeks but essentially goes on all year) for a LONG time. =)

Congratulations, Tambone:)

To answer wishful_thinker's question about the activity I spend a lot of time on...
my answer= taekwondo:) I train competitively a couple hours a day for six days a week. I haven't been training as much as usual lately with all of my homework but I still devote a lot of my life to it. If I don't train hard enough then I get beat up so that keeps me training a lot. I think its weird that I got into SHARP even though my major ec is not really science-related, but I'm not complaining:)

I also didn't have any science-related extracirriculars--I think they just want to see dedication and passion for something.

My answer to the question would have to be Scholars Bowl. My team usually practices an hour a day 3 days a week. We finished our regular tournament season a few weeks ago but now we have a national tournament in Orlando to prep for, so our time has been spent practicing and raising money for it as of late. A good number of my EC's were science related but other areas were represented too.

OnTheRock, I see that you just joined CC last week, welcome (its addicting)! Did you get into NASA SHARP? Which site did you get placed at?

Does anybody know if we get to use the athletic facilities at the residential sites? I'd really really like to get/keep in shape this summer.

dunno about the facilities...i wouldn't know why they wouldn't allow us, we can cross the streets w/o our moms...

and yes! welcome OnTheRock! Tell us about yourself!!!

i have my commuter interview tomorrow guys.....
what what! and it's a snow day in april. i love it.
about the extracurriculars, yeah i have no science ones. i have dance and speech and debate.. and i love both of them!
