well, zogoto, it does say pretty clearly you had to be 16 by the time you attend... idk. Good luck!

For some reason I was wandering around nasasharp.com and saw the "Project Experiences" and seems like they really only want minority students.

Now I feel like they'll look into the race much more than I thought they would. I didnt' notice the "SHARP is specifically designed to attract and increase underrepresented students' participation" part in the program description until just now, either...

It says they want a photocopy of your birth certificate, but isn't it illegal to photocopy a birth certificate...?

Do programs like these also want students with disabilities? If so, could Asperger's Syndrome count as a disability? EVen though people with Asperger's are probably overrepresented in scientific/technical fields? And if I mention Asperger's, do I have to attach an official diagnosis?

Does an AC count as a Honors course? I hope so.... Please let me know ASAP

ALso, does anyone know how the U.S. Postal Office operates? I must send in my app Monday because my math teacher will complete his rec by Monday. WHen is the latest time that a mailed envelope in a public building will be postmarked at the same day that the envelope is mailed.

You can only list the course as an Honors course if it's indicated on the transcript.

Hmm..> I think I'm gonna roll dice and chance it. All my classes say AC and I know they're honors courses.... Do you think?

Is there any fee you have to pay them??

I don't think there's a fee...

No fee...

zogoto - send in your app even if you wont be 16

when is you birthday .. because some of the sites start later than all the others, ie mich and csula

Simfish, go to your local post office and ask which post office in your area is open extended hours. Most won't postmark after 5 p.m., but if you're in an area with several post offices (or a large airport) one post office may postmark until 8 p.m. It's difficult to call and ask, but you might be able to find out online. I wouldn't trust leaving it in a box somewhere. Go to the actual post office if you can and watch the clerk postmark it.

My bday is june 27th. I think the reason you may have to be 16 is the payment thing since if you're under 16 they may not be able to give you a job job. But I am willing to forgo that (for at least the 2 or 3 weeks). Also, don't they say its okay for freshman and sophomores to apply? Not many frosh/soph are 16...

Where do you put your PSAT / SAT Scores on the NASA SHARP app? lol... Can't find it

Yeah, where do you enter all the PSAT, SAT, SAT II scores? I have photocopied test transcripts in with my app, but I would like to put it somewhere on the actual form.

I'm panicked now... lol I want to send it out tomorrow, but no one is answering except you zogoto! :)

I think it says somewhere on this thread that they don't care about scores that much (even less than RSI). Just include transcripts.

hmmmmm can we include a self addressed stamped postcard to verify receipt???

I recall it never said anything about freshman, you have to be either sophomore or junior. But I guess you still have a decent chance, zogoto.

Just curious, are you THAT concerned about USPS losing your mail?

PSAT/SAT scores should appear on your high school transcript
Drop the app off in the post office any time on Monday, but just make sure you get there before they close since most post offices close early.
My Commuter SHARP started on June 28
