i was denied at first. Then a week before they called and invited me. I could go just because I live driving distance away. Anyway, I'm gonna be a plebe next year. So if you don't get in to NASS its definately not because you're not competative enough for the Academy.

Its already the 17th and I still havent gotten a letter one way or the other. Was I so unqualified they just forgot about notifying me? (sniffle) Maybe I'll just call if I dont find out by next week...

^^^^^
All of the acceptance/decline letters should have gone out by the 15 April 2007. If you don't receive anything by the end of the week, I would call the Admissions Office.

Thanks, GreatAmerican. I'm still waiting too.

I am also still waiting, if they all went out on the 15th, it should be here in upstate ny by the end of the week.

well i got my rejection letter to summer seminar. Oh well i live in MD so i barely had a chance.

^^^^^
If you stilll want to attend NASS, call the Admissions Office and ask to be put on a wait list. Be advised, that if you are on a wait list you need to be flexible because you will probably receive a call 2-3 days before you need to report.

^^^^^
Good advice.

My son was also initially rejected, but got a phone call two weeks before 3rd session. He will also be a plebe this summer and we are from Maryland.

Don't give up! Do what everyone above said. I've heard so many stories of people being accepted last minute due to cancelations and whatnot.

Question: When tested on the CFA at NASS are your results counted towards your application?

Thanks

^^^^^
The results of the CFA administered during NASS is entered into your file.

I still have not received a letter regarding my candidate status to summer seminar. It is very difficult waiting for this letter to come. It makes me feel better that some others still have not received word. I'm not alone!!

You're not. Hang in there. It may be awhile yet. And if the response is "nyet" keep pursuing. There are MANY ... who don't get in and/or go to NASS appointed ... and MANY who do attend NASS that don't apply and/or are not appointed. Yes, there can be some correlation, and it's most worthwhile to pursue and attend if invited, but it's not definitive. I believe of 1800 attending NASS last summer, approximately 600 are or will be appointees to Class of 2011.

rejected :(
I'll call to be put on the waiting list, but I'm not too upset otherwise. It would have been nearly impossible to go to NASS AND prepare for Governor's School that would start the next day.

I'm in to Session III, but I won a fellowship from my school to travel to Mongolia for four weeks, so I'm trying to switch to Session I. I had my advisor call today, and it looks as if it will happen. I'm also into West Point Summer Seminar, but still waiting on Coast Guard. I have two very smart friends who were rejected. I'm pretty surprised.

If you do poorly when you take the CFA at NASS, are you allowed to retake it later on in the summer?

Thanks

^^^^Yes! You can. But my advice, and this is what my son did, take your scores, work on your weaknesses over the summer. Then, in the fall, retake it and you might just max out (he did). The wonderful people here on cc gave him some ideas on what to do to get his basketball throw better, and it worked!

Best of luck to you, wafflebear12, and have a great time!

Eh, I didn't get in. Got turned down from USMA SS too. Got into the AFASS though.
