NASS decisions

A few years back our son was contacted by a phone call from the academy asking if he would like to attend followed up by letter in the mail

srhcasper, could you please share and help us to learn? Venture please on why your good son was aggressively pursued for a program w/ scads of oversubscription?

Here’s hoping he was receptive to the romancing and accepted the date! And maybe the proposal the ensuing year??? Where is he now?

Yes he did attend SS and yes he attends the USNA he is looking forward to being cadre this summer

I missed your first question WP. To this day we do not know why the phone call. We just figured that is what they do sometimes. Anyhow that is how it worked out for our MID wish the best for all that apply.

^^^^ often times calls will be made for a variety of reasons. Candidate may be a recruit that a coach has a particular interest in. Coaches can, and do, call weekly- like clockwork. Candidate may be from a targeted group / area that the academy is interested in. Diversity officers can, and do, call- frequently. Candidate may have submitted steller PSAT/SATs and peliminary info that has caught the eye of someone in the admissions office. Just three reasons that immediately come to mind.

Good knowing, good info. Thanks to both.

And …what a cool ending (so far) casper! Dreams do come true, don’t they! :D

ok so im going berzerk right now. I received my acceptance letter on March 18th but the letter itself said March 14th. My mom payed right away, but we sent the forms in today (via priority mail). Officially, thats 2 weeks and one day since they sent it, but 11 days since I’ve received it. Does this mean my acceptance has been rescinded?

NO! And congratulations!!

You’re good to go. You’ll be fine. This is a chronic issue w/ the NASS stuff, and w/ an abnormally huge load of apps being processed, no doubt this may be even more “chronic” this year.

If you’ve sent your “yea” and your “hay” …you’ll be singing the praises of USNA come June. Be 110% certain …the USNA dudes are NOT thumping their fangers, wondering, "Where IS CollegeXC1993’s mother’s check!!! :frowning:

Enjoy your time. Absorb as much as you can. Be ready physically. Practice the PRT. :D
