<p>To Ultima - many of the people participating in this forum have been avidly pursuing or thinking about a career in the military for quite some time and are well versed on the dedication and hardwork it takes to receive an appointment to a service academy. There is a tremendous amount of energy, effort, patience, and yes, disappointment that comes along with wanting to be the 'best of the best' and proudly serve this country as an officer in our armed forces.<br>
You owe it to yourself and everyone on this forum to do some research on the 'prestige' of a service academy education and the challenges one faces in trying to get one - it is not possible to answer your question as every single posting on this site reflects the depth of feeling we all have about USNA and the other academies. There is a strength of passion here that comes with understanding what it takes - if you don't have it, then this may not be for you.</p>
