I wish that my cafeteria was as cool was wartsandall’s! Anyways, a random nasty cafeteria thought just popped into my head. I remember once I was doing some volunteer work in the school cafeteria (baking cookies and stuff) and when I was in there I remember seeing a stack of these big cans that had … mashed potatoes in them! Mashed potatoes in a can? I can only imagine how healthy those bad boys are…haha. Has anybody heard of such a thing?

Food that is always there: burgers, fried chicken, fries, pizza (plain, peperoni, plus 1 different one every day), pre made salads, pre made sandwiches and wraps, smoothies, pudding, yogurt, fruit, jello, churros, fresh baked cookies (everyone is crazy for)
Ice cream sundae station, Salad bar station, Sandwich station (most popular- ANY sandwich you can think of), “hot” station where every day its something different (chicken parm, tacos, etc)
There is sushi randomly, paninis, brownies, and lots of other random things
And in the mornings there is also different baked goods, pastries, pancakes, bacon, eggs, sausage, sandwich combinations, hash browns

Ahhhh I miss school for this

Most of our food is pretty good. We have AMAZING pizza, nachos, and chicken nuggets, and we are known throughout the city’s schools for our awesome chocolate chip muffins.

The one thing that is terrible is our french fries. They are either burnt to a crisp or soggy, and they only taste good when they’re hot and smothered in ketchup. Don’t eat them if they get cold.

I worked at a private school one summer and the food was so much better.

I went to my elementary school cafeteria, like, twice I think. I don’t remember anything.

The most disgusting thing that I’ve actually tried at my HS cafeteria was the pizza. It was inedible. The most disgusting school, non-cafeteria, food I’ve tried is the peanut butter and jelly sandwich from the vending machine. It’s as bad as it sounds. There are a lot of things of which I was too afraid to consider trying. First among those was the chili meat stuff. Now, being a Cincinnatian, I’m used to quite a different type of chili than most. It probably contains much lower grade meat. But this stuff… I just got a 2 way (spaghetti with cheese on it), skipped the meat.

^Sandwiches from a vending machine? That’s new, I want to see one of those.

My school is situated just over a mile away from the local prison. We have a common food supplier. The food isn’t terribly bad though…but occasionally you’ll bite into a juicy piece of artery in the Sloppy Joes.

Our food was alright. The good thing about it was that they served a single varied menu instead of having different hot lunches every single day. So I could order a plate of fries, chicken parm, and powerade on one day, just a cheeseburger the next, or whatever else I want on any given day. The only exception was pizza, which was only served on Fridays, and which was also relatively delicious.

The food and servings were realllyyy unhealthy though. Like, they literally served you a full plate of fries. It was awesome. Best part of the lunch.

It was pretty expensive though and bad for track practice, so more often than not I just made my own turkey, lettuce, cheese, and tomato whole-wheat sandwich. Which was also awesome, but I still supplemented it with fries once a week or so.

I go to (or now used to go to) a school in Upstate NY. The food is pretty decent, but this one day, they had this thing called a fish dog. It was really disgusting, like soggy breaded fish in a hot dog bun…

What really made this scary is that they put up movie-like posters all around the cafeteria advertising this “new entree” a few days before they made it. Disgusting lol.
