I'm a junior and really want to go to USC but I had a bad test day on for the PSAT(it was my birthday too lol) and I didn't get high enough score for NMF but will be commended and I'm an African American and will most likely get NAF instea. Does USC give guaranteed half-tuition to NAFs too?

Yoskis- what was your PSAT score if I may ask? And what state are you from?

203, Iowa. Last year the cutoff for NMSF was 207 and the year before 210. I haven’t been able to find the exact past cuttoffs for national achievement but the general consensus is 10-15 points below which puts me in the range

Congratulations. My reason for asking was a selfish one. My son who is a HS jr. Scored 197 on his PSAT in CA and like you expects(hopes) for some type of recognition for National Achievement as an AA. It is unclear as to what will happen. Keep us posted- good luck!

Only NMF who are accepted and list USC as their first choice get the 1/2 tuition. I haven’t heard of any other honors for NAFs. But students who aren’t NMF can be invited to interview and do receive merit scholarships. My D had zero honors from the PSAT and still received a Deans scholarship.
