This year I became a National AP Scholar. Do I get some sort of certificate in the mail? Or can I just report myself as one to colleges? Thanks!

You report your AP scores on your common app/send score reports out.

It’s telling them what they already know. It’s a pompous thing to put on there.

^I don’t exactly agree with this. I think the award is something you’ve worked hard for, so you should put it down under honors and awards.

^
The point is they pretty much already know you have it based off of your AP scores.

If you get a 2350 on your SAT you don’t put “top 1% percentile on the SAT” down as an award. The only difference is a certificate…

Anyway, you should get a certificate in the mail pretty soon. Don’t stress about putting it or not (tbh it’s probably the most minuscule part of the application!), but if you need room to add something else, taking it off would be a good idea.

Yes, they send you a certificate. I’m qualified too. I still haven’t received my certificate yet. Have you? Did anyone receive his or hers?
