Yeah, so i probably will not be getting national scholar...
I hoped to get all 3 of my APs this year above 4 but ended up with one 3. There is very little chance that I would take six AP's (english again) next year just to have a shot at a nice piece of paper when I can have one that is almost as good...

I'm a rising senior (i took 1 freshman year, 3 sophomore year, and 4 junior year. i got one 4)

can we keep count of our AP National Scholar?

so far: 5

715 juniors. 0.2% of all AP takers!

If you cancel a score...will it still be counted for AP Scholar awards?

Woot! I'm officially an AP National Scholar and a rising senior!

Yay for bragging on college applications!

Sorry to keep posting this...but does anyone know?

If you cancel a score...will it still be counted for AP Scholar awards?

I have a question, should we even put AP awards under the academic awards, distinctions, and honors section of the Common App. If we list all of our APs and scores, then it seems somewhat pointless to list the award (at least if you have more awards than there are spaces). The scores should speak for themselves, right?

dang it... i have 4-5's and 3-4's... one test away from national ap scholar... if only i didn't do debate and had to take the class i would have taken another ap and probably gotten national

woot woot !! :)

and gar_spartan, it's really not that big of adeal, colleges will see your scores anyway.

I would go ahead and list your AP awards in that section, I did.

Yay!

I'm a national AP scholar as a rising senior!!

is that actually impressive to adcoms?

7 so far
congrats!

Honestly this kind of ****es me off. My school doesnt offer AP courses to students until junior year. I took 4 this year including two of the hardest ones and got ( 5 physics B, 5 english Lang and comp, 4 USH, 4 chemistry). I am one of TWO students to receive AP scholar with honors award by the end of juniour year. Its not like my class isn't smart, there are about 10- 12 kids with 2250 + on SATs, our school just doesn't offer APs.

^ that's my situation too. It's not like "because you didn't get National Scholar as a rising senior", CollegeX will reject you.

Remember context of each applicant is considered?

And normally, at my school, a junior can take 1 AP. 1. So don't complain how the world is against you.

[end rant]

Wow, that's awful. Can you self-study and take the exams?

wait yeah.

i got AP scholar by self studying, i don't think that people should complain about only having four APs available. they should just take the extra initiative like many of the rest of us did.

I'm a rising senior and a natl ap scholar - 2 4's, 6 5's.

Dumb question from a parent: Does each of the Econ parts (micro and macro) count as its own exam? I think my daughter is a National AP Scholar.

Biology 5
Psychology 5
World History 5 (or something like World History)
Spanish 5
English Literature 5
Microeconomics 5
Macroeconomics 4
Physics 4
Calculus 5

^^ Yes. Your daughter is a National Scholar. Congrats!

Just got my AP Scores in the mail.. I've gotten 8 5's, a 4, and 3 3's. That would make my average about a 4.6. The sheet doesn't say I got AP scholar, so I was wondering if they give you awards for the current year later. I got AP scholar with distinction last year but I am not sure when I got it.

Also, isn't there some International award if you get a 3+ on an English exam as well as a foreign language exam (4 in Spanish, 5 in English LanG)
