Edgar you Tulane person

11 APs....

wait..only 87 people got the national ap award after their junior year? That counts the aps they took at the end of their junior year right? wow..i thought that number would be a lot higher..

No, it's not. Before college board screwed up their AP award scales by counting everything as a full year course, a small number of juniors qualified for the AP National Scholar award. The number of juniors with 8 or more APs (with scores of 4 or 5) was certainly lower than 1600s, so it was "prestigious."

Still, as others have said it's not a hook.

It could potentially be a hook depending on your school setting. I
f your school offers a very small number of AP's and yet you got the Nat'l award, that could show motivation and dedication.

Just curious as to whether anybody knows the motivation for doing such an awful thing? i.e. Changing the AP Award scales?

profit......

yup, profit and more publicity.

Man, in order for me to get the award, I have to self-study AP Physics C E/M. Should I? (BTW E/M is pretty damn hard)

O yeah

the scores I got so far

AP Euro 5 AP Stats 5

Currently
AP Bio (doing great)
AP Calc BC (doing great)
AP Physics Mechanics (doing great)
AP English (doing great)
AP American (doing great)

But the thing is, AP Bio and AP Physics C are on the same day. That means I have to conquer 7 Hours of solid testing at least!

How many of you here are AP National Scholars anyhow? How many of you are trying out for AP National Scholar?

I was one score away from receiving an AP Scholar award last year. I was so ****ed. Btw, I am a senior now. So this was during my junior year.

Albert: you only have one day with two exams (i have like...3 days with 2 exams/day + more individually)
Though I don't think each exam takes the full 4 hours, or do they? Isn't the microecon (or macro) test 2 hours?

anyway, good luck to all
