Has anyone received the National Buckeye Scholarship yet?
No, we are anxiously waiting to hear about the National Buckeye Scholarship also. Daughters ACT is 29 and WPA is 4.3. Hope its enough. Good luck!
My daughter just got a letter awarding her the Maximus Scholarship and the National Buckeye this afternoon!!!
same here, just got a mail for National buckeye and maximumsfor my son
Congrats!!
Would you be willing to share your stats (SAT/ACT and GPA? My son got the NB scholarship last year with similiar stats as my daughter’s (this year) but don’t know if thats good enough this year.
his ACT 34, GPA 3.82 UW; class rank only at 20%. It appears the class rank is not rigid when considering scholarship, since he got maximus scholarship which requires top 3% rank.
ACT 32, GPA 3.95 UW, rigorous high school that does not rank.
waiting also; daughter had 29ACT, 1990SAT and 3.85 at small prep school with good extracurricular; fingers crossed!
My son just texted me a picture of his letter awarding him the Buckeye and the Maximius. He was accepted Friday 12/11. We were expecting the Buckeye but since our high school doesn’t rank we weren’t sure if he would qualify for any of the other scholarships. His stats are SAT 1450, ACT 31 and WGPA 4.09. This would indicate that if you send both ACT and SAT that they take the highest into consideration since my son’s ACT doesn’t qualify for the Maximus.
Anyone else receive notice from OSU that they got the National Buckeye (and/or other scholarships) for OOS students?
Good luck:bangbang:
my son got the notice around Dec 22 for NBS. He applied 11/1, OOS
Have these stopped coming? When the representative came to my school I was under the impression they were automatic… not true? I have 32 ACT/4.32W/3.81UW
I was accepted in late December
We are in same boat.
Son accepted 11.20
SAT 1400 CR/M
GPA 3.86/4.3
Have heard nothing.
Looking at previous years posts I had thought he would have heard by now.
Was hoping he would get provost plus national buckeye. Heard they give until money runs out. Have seen in past posts where individuals have qualified for a higher level scholarship but it was later in the process and they received less. Still waiting
Last year my OOS received his acceptance around thanksgiving. He was awarded thr NBS in early Feb. His SAT was 650/700 (CR/M) and GPA of 3.7.
This year my daughters stats are 29 ACT and 4.3 WGPA (lower than your students) - we have heard nothing. I hope OSU is not out of money. This is a great scholarship. If we dont hear by the end of feb I will call admissions. Good luck!!
I am also waiting for the scholarships (the National Buckeye+ Provost Scholarship). My stats are SAT-2100 ( CR+Math-1390) and GPA-4.0. I was accepted early December, and late December I got a notification of acceptance into the University Honors Program. I applied for the Electrical and Computer Engineering major… OSU is one of my top choice, but I need these two scholarships to make it happen…Plz post if anyone with similar stats was accepted or not. From what I have seen here they have only announced Maximus scholarships decisions…(I fell short of that requirement criteria for only 30 points)…BTW I also applied for Morrill Scholarships…Any word of those?
@Adwaya there’s a thread on Morrill.
@Chopinspiano: Luks like quite a lot of people have got it…keeping my fingers crossed though…
My son has ACT of 33 and weighted GPA of 3.9. His school does not rank. Got the admissions notice a week ago. Hoping to hear soon about the scholarships and the Honors Program.
I have a 30 ACT with a 4.56 unweighted GPA and a 3.85 weighted GPA. Also, I have multiple extracurricular activities along with a varsity letter as well as ranked in the top 10% of my very prestigious and competitive college preparatory high school. Got accepted a little bit before Thanksgiving and have been waiting for the National Buckeye Scholarship. Does anyone know the exact time-frame in which this scholarship comes out? This is a huge deciding factor for me as an out of state student.
From the posts on here, it looks like the only students who have received merit scholarships were given the Maximus scholarship along with the National Buckeye Scholarship. I don’t think Provost, Trustee, or NBS have been sent. From postings in past years, it sounds like they’re released in batches. A call to the OSU admissions office might give you their expected time frame.
