National Economics Challenge - any of your kids did this?

My son is looking for Eco major and came across this EconEdLink - National Economics Challenge. I am sure we have someone/many whose kids took part in this. Can you please educate on how to prepare for this.

FYI, school doesn’t have any team as of now.

Most of its problems are similar to AP economics but harder, especially Adam Smith group. Principle of economic 7th edition could be a great book for preparing.
