I got 5th place in the US and 4th place in Virginia. Anyone else place?

Is there a ranking online that we can see or a website for this exam?

Too bad we don't have this exam in Canada, otherwise I'd rank first :p (as long as the competition doesn't include Quebec! :))

bump 10 char

what the ****? there is a national french exam? is it harder than ap french or sat2 french?

http://frenchteachers.org/concours/

is it easier than ap french or sat2french?

I've never even heard of this!

That ain't fair.

i got a 5 on ap french. and 760 french (selfstudied both).how about you?

I've taken National Spanish Exam. :) 2nd in State for Level 2. Pero je voudrais francais tambien (my tex-mex french.)

National Exam? You ought to be kidding me. I thought there was only Latin Exam and that's it.

i got commended last year. The award was a "Certificat de Reussite".

There's also a Nat. Spanish Exam for levels 1-6. I just took it this week, so I don't know my scaled scores or percentages. But, the %age I got correct was 80% Achievement, 76% Proficiency (for level 5/AP) And, yes, these tests are WAY harder than the CB's SAT IIs and APs.

I got 14th in the nation last year. My friend was like 2nd or something. She went to the national awards ceremony. And got a free folder. :(

I'm taking it (level 4) on Wednesday.

"I'm taking it (level 4) on Wednesday."

high five I'm taking level 4 on Thursday.

But how could the OP have the results already if we haven't even taken it yet??

I could win Japanese or Chinese exam.

hey, i took this a few weeks ago :)!

didn't know the results were out THAT quickly yet... i think the op was talking about last year, maybe?

One thing I was wondering about... do they let kids take it who are native French speakers? Because that would be completely unfair :p haha

thecomisar. There's no need to worry. The exam's not about winning. It's to promote the foregin language and its culture. So they provide opportunities for all levels of speakers.

For Spanish, There are three divisions. First are those who are bilingual (usually natives who are amazingly fluent). Next it's the "outside experience category", those who have lived in a hispanic country for like a month, or know some other romance language at home. I was like most people learning spanish and was put in the regular division.

It's not about winning? haha :) I know what you mean, but why is it called a contest then? XD

Anyway, I just did it this morning... wasn't too bad.

how do you register for this?
