national hispanic scholar cut-offs

Has anyone heard of any national hispanic scholar cut-offs for this year? i live in virginia...if you know the scores from previous years that would be much appreciated :)

For Florida it was 195 - I got that info directly from the NHRP. Don't know about other states.

how did you get that information from NHRP? did you e-mail them or call them?

I e-mailed. Here's the signature line from the letter I got from them in response to my qiestions:

I believe it is around 167 in California.

I called yesterday.
Oklahoma NHR cut off for 2006 is 181

Does anyone know the cut off for Texas?

when do you find out if you're a NM Hispanic Scholar? They already announced that this kid at my school was a semifinalist, but they haven't announced the Commended or Hispanics. I know for sure I'm a Hispanic Scholar, I got a 210 and am from Florida.

I've read from past participants that they found out through congratulatory letters from colleges before they heard anything from NHRP or their own high schools. I think they send the CD to colleges in Sept/Oct.

On CollegeBoard this is listed under the Counselor Page:
September 19 NHRP: 2006 National Hispanic Recognition Program finalists announced

I keep on asking my counselor if she's heard anything, and today a lady from the guidance office called and they said that the letters would be mailed later this week, but that's what they said last week. gosh. But they were able to tell me that there were 7 total for our school..and i'm pretty sure there are only about 7 hispanics in my class, so I guess I have nothing to worry about!

do all the colleges have a master list or whatever of who all the National Hispanic Scholars are or do you have to write it on your application?

I just got an email back from College Board with the same signature as above. The cut off score for TEXAS is 181. Guess who is an National Hispanic Scholar. (me) Congrats to everyone else who qualified.

I spoke to the Program Coodinator from the CollegeBoard National Hispanic Recognition Program today and she stated that the finalist list would be mailed out sometime later this week. Don't forget that there are also other requirements for receiving this recognition; a GPA requirement, varification of Hispanic heritage, and your school needed to send in any/all information last spring in order for you to qualify.

i just found out that the cut-off for va was 195...sweet :) now all i have to hope for is that my school filled out all the forms!

*** how do you verify it? i dont look hispanic at all but my dads side of the family is 100% Cuban.

It's good to be a minority, baby

all you do is put that you are hispanic on your psat score sheet, and then your school has to tell them your GPA and you must be at least 1/4 Hispanic. I just got the letter in the mail today so it's OFFICIAL!

I received my letter today... I've been selected as a "Scholar Finalist in the 2006-07 National Hispanic Recognition Program." !!!

Score: 209
State: Pennsylvania

Letters for Texans arrived today also!

i got my letter today!

They don't send the CD to all colleges (only the ones that order them), so they encourage you on the letter to indicate that you were recognized on your college apps.

oh yes, I'm Scholar Finalist CA 220
