National Hispanic Scholar?

Can anyone tell me which schools will give a merit based award for being a NHS? I got offered a full ride to Univ of Nebraska - Lincoln. It wasn't until I got that letter that I realized that being a NHS actually meant something. Do other universities recognize this?

Check out UArizona, UIowa & BU, they all have merit scholarships targeted specifically towards NHS.

for the alabama scholarship you need a 32 ACT and a 3.7 GPA unweighted. the GPA is not listed on the website, but i got shot down becaus of it, despite angry emails.

my brother got like a full ride to arizona state because of his national hispanic scholarship.

My daughter was offered a full tuition scholarship ($20,600) each year at Westminster U. in Salt Lake City. Don't know much about it. They contacted us.

i listed Oklahoma State University as my number one college on the PSAT and they sent me this email today. There is no info about the scholarship on the web page, but i thought i'd mentin it

I’m responding to the email you sent to finaid@okstate.edu.

We’re extremely happy to hear you’re considering OSU; being an alumnus myself it’s always great to see 2nd and 3rd generation Cowboys return to the university.

A $5,500/year cash award renewable for 4 year – total value $22,000.

We should be sending you an award package soon.

Please let us know if you have any questions – we’d love to see you here in OSU orange next year.

The University of Southern California also offers half tuition, although it is possible to get it bumped up to full tuition- I did.

Does USC still offer the half tuition for National Hispanic Scholars? It is not listed in the website...
<a href="http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/sg/entering_undergrad_meritbased/%5B/url%5D">http://www.usc.edu/admission/fa/sg/entering_undergrad_meritbased/</a></p>

This is so helpful! Texas State is just up the street (well, sort of) and I didn't even know that!

Westminster in UT offered my son full tuition, but retracted it because he has college credits. Some schools allow students to still apply as freshmen depending on how many credits and when they got those credits (example: UT Austin allows up to 12 credits within 1 year of graduation to still be considered a freshman) but Westminster didn't allow any. So we had to cross it off the list. Seemed like a really good school.

UT Austin offers $3k per year for 4 years.
