National Hispanic Scholar

hey i was just informed that i am a National Hispanic Scholar by my GC. After scrounging around CC it seems like many colleges give scholarships to Hispanic scholars similar to what they would do for national merit scholars. I know Northeastern gives National Merit Finalists full scholarships and i was wondering if anyone has heard of Northeastern doing anything similar for Hispanic Scholars??

There’s no specific scholarship geared towards hispanics per se. NEU offers merit-based and “educational opportunity” scholarships, and you would be considered the latter.

The one that would pertain to you would probably be the the Torch Scholarship which is mainly geared towards minorities and first-generation college students. But unless you’re applying next year, it’s too late.

Here’s more info:

im a junior in high school and no i dont think the torch scholarship would apply as i am not a first generation student. ugh i was hoping NEU would provide a scholarship, i know U of Alabama, U of Arizona, Arizona State, and Ohio state offer national hispanic scholar scholarships that arent well advertised. do you think a call to financial aid would be worth it

Of course it’d be worth it. Never hurts to ask them.
