National Honor Roll?

Is this a real award, or is it just like "Who's Who"? I think its fake and I'm about to trash this letter, but if its important then good for me. Did anyone else get one of these? Is it actually prestigious/real?

<a href="http://nationalhonorroll.org/index.cfm?%5B/url%5D">http://nationalhonorroll.org/index.cfm?</a></p>

its completely fake

i kinda got the same question. do things like NHS, "the national society of high school scholars," key club, who's who, and stuff that everybody seems to have help at all with admissions? i would think not.

No. NHS maybe, but Who's Who and NSHS are just fake rip-offs.

I've heard Key Club is good, but at my school there is no difference between CSF and Key Club, so I don't see how CSF counts for less. But whatever.

The fake ones are:

Who's Who
National Society of High School Scholars
National Honor Role

National Honors Society (Run through your school as a club) is real. (Lame in my opinion, but real.)

Hahaha, some "benefits" of National Honor Roll

Being a National Honor Roll Student is not only an honor, but offers qualified students some exciting benefits. Each student's biography will be listed in the National Honor Roll Commemorative Edition along with the biographies of other leading students in the U.S. Not only is this something to be proud of, it is an accomplishment which can be included on college and scholarship applications!

1 Qualified students who have been accepted for induction in the High School edition are eligible to take advantage of the College Admissions Notification Service (CANS).
2 Approximately six to eight weeks after the book is published, a press release, along with a list announcing the name of each inductee in the area, will be sent to daily papers within a 50-mile radius of their homes.
3 Qualified students who have been accepted for induction into the High School edition receive an application for the Community Contributions Scholarship Program. Qualified middle school students who have been accepted for induction into the National Honor Roll Middle School Edition will receive an application for the NHR "Proud To Live In America" Scholarship.
4 National Honor Roll students will have this achievement announced to their state governors and U.S. Senators. The addresses of inductees are provided to their state governors and U.S. Senators in the event they wish to send congratulations for this honor.

The second one kills me. What I've learned from working at two professional papers for three years, let me just tell you that we wouldn't even think twice to trash such "press releases"!
