Is it possible to have ur membership revoked? i have like a 3.76 and the minimum is a 3.75 at my school, and after this semester it may be like a ~3.73, so would my membership then be revoked?

I’ve never heard of it, but NHS isn’t taken very seriously in my school. I’d say it’d be better to talk to someone at your school than someone here: they’d know best.

Yes, at least in my school people have gotten their membership revoked. But, it was all because of getting caught drinking/other illegal activities/etc. I really wouldn’t worry about such an insignificant gpa drop; especially if you’re a senior and college apps are pretty much done now, they won’t revoke your membership. =)

lol thanks, i feel better. i still gotta pull up my grades though

anyone else?

At my school you can have membership revoked if your grades drop. I think you have to check with your moderator.

No, you won’t get revoked…
I’m sure

others opinions?

I reaaally wouldn’t worry about it. Hell, I’m vice president of our NHS chapter and even though our lousy advisors threatened to revoke each of the council members’ titles (because evidently we weren’t being “aggressive” or “strict” enough, rather we treated the other members like our fellow peers - which they are omg shocker), they couldn’t do it because it was already on our transcripts. Have you sent out all of your apps already? If so, it definitely won’t matter.

i have but i just want it to show up when i graduate

I’m the NHS president at our school, and I can tell you that we are pretty strict. You would be placed on academic suspension if your GPA fell below the requirement, and you could be expelled if there was no improvement.

our schools NHS was a joke… 3.25 or above got in and you don’t have to do anything at all… you’re supposed to come to the meetings or else u can get ur membership removed but this is never enforced and its almost embarassing… like 75% of our class is in NHS, so it’s not very selective at all. but depending on how strict ur school’s NHS policy is, you can definitely get your membership taken away

It depends entirely on the school, you should ask whoever leads your chapter. In the case of my school, pretty much anybody with a GPA of over 3 gets in and then if you do 20 community service hours a semester you’re fine.
