National Merit $2500

<p>I remember reading on CC how not too many people knew anyone that had won the $2500 prize from National Merit.</p>

<p>So, basically, I was just posting to say that my best friend, a National Merit and National Achievement Finalist, won this prize! I could not be happier for her.
I'm a Merit Finalist myself, but highly doubt I'll win anything.
She's a phenomenal writer, so if one of the factors was the essay, I totally understand why she got it.
She hopes to attend Harvard.</p>

<p>But yes... My BFF is one of these rare individuals!</p>

<p>Anyone else on here win this prize/know someone who did so?</p>

<p>Wait, she won it for this year? Have winners already been announced and notified?</p>

<p>According to NMSC web page, letters to $2,500 scholarship winners will not be mailed until March 22.</p>

<p>Are you sure this is not a corporate scholarship she received? I'm not that knowledgeable about how corporate scholarships are reported/distributed, but it is definitely too early for anyone to be getting one of NMSC's 2500 $2500 scholarships.</p>

<p>She technically received it from National Achievement, so I guess their reply date is earlier than that of National Merit.</p>

<p>A couple of years ago my friend won the $2500. She now attends Yale.</p>
