<p>what kinds of scholarships do they give to national merit scholars at WashU, how many people will get it?</p>
<p>thanks</p>
<p>Not much, only $1,000 per year. I don’t know if all NMF who enroll get it or not.</p>
<p>Copied directly from the Student Financial Services website, by searching the Wash U website: [Your</a> Financial Assistance Award](<a href=“http://sfsweb.wustl.edu/sfs/incoming/award.aspx]Your”>http://sfsweb.wustl.edu/sfs/incoming/award.aspx)</p>
<p>“Washington University supports the
goals ofthe National Merit Scholarship
programs. The type of National Merit
Scholarship you receive is determined
by the National Merit Scholarship Cor-
poration. If you are selected by the
National Merit Scholarship Corporation
for its one-time $2,500 National Merit-
sponsored scholarship, we are commit-
ted to continuing this scholarship for
you in your upperclass years at Washington University.
If you are selected as a National Merit finalist and are
not offered another type of National
Merit Scholarship, you will be eligible
for a $2,000 annually renewable
Washington University college-spon-
sored National Merit Scholarship. To be
eligible for these awards, declare
Washington University as your first
choice school by the National Merit
deadline. This award will be in addition
to any other scholarship support for
which you may be eligible.”</p>
<p>I think they’re pretty unique in that they guarantee your award for 4 years, and will give you $2,000 even if you are named a finalist but not awarded an actual Scholarship from the company. </p>
<p>Also, this is copied from their facts.wustl.edu website: “The University ranked fifth in the nation in the number of National Merit Scholars in this academic year’s freshman class.”</p>
<p>hmm thanks!</p>
<p>As a NMF, I can confirm that it’s $2000 a year (unless you get the award from National Merit that’s 2500).</p>
